Democrats have declared a Constitutional crisis in regards to Attorney General William Barr and his refusal to submit to them the entire unredacted Mueller report. He stated that this was the time in which we were tested to whether we could keep the Republic or if we ended up moving towards a government with more tyranny. See his comments below:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi was quick to join in saying that we are indeed in a Constitutional crisis and that the administration has decided not to honor their oath of office. The article cites that President Trump has exerted executive privilege over the Mueller report, refused to turn over his tax returns, threatened suits about his financial information and has instructed aids not to testify. Need I remind you that there are no requirements for a President to release any tax returns or any of their personal financial information, so these arguments are invalid.
Over at the National Review, Jack Crowe describes the level of access that Democrats now have to the Mueller Report, 99.9% access, which includes all but 7 redactions, 2 which apply to footnotes. The reasoning for this is because the redactions apply to 22 ongoing federal investigations. AG Barr is following federal law. Apparently, the law or ongoing criminal investigations are of no concern to Democrats who simply want to continue to push their political agenda. This is interesting now that the media is pushing the agenda and the tables have turned.
I’m reminded back in 2012 of a time when Nadler and Pelosi were not concerned with withholding information. Over 100 Democrats joined a walk-out in protest of the proposed contempt vote against then AG Eric Holder. In fact, Representative Nadler tweeted this at the time:
My how things have changed in the Democrats mind that the tables have turned. AG Barr has turned over all of the report he is legally allowed to turn over, yet Democrats were willing to walk out when AG Holder refused to turn over all the documents he was requested to turn over. There’s an interesting double standard among Democrats these days, now that the tables have turned.
