Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke out with interesting comments made about the freshmen Democratic representatives. Pelosi said that the freshmen representatives had “public whatever and their Twitter world” but lacked political backing. Evidently those statements did not sit well with AOC.
The statements by Pelosi and AOC’s response continue to highlight the discord between the new younger Democratic representatives and the more traditional Democratic leadership, like Pelosi. The radical movement and the main stream media are pushing for their agenda against the wishes of Pelosi and most of the traditional Democratic leadership. Just take this recent post from Jeff Stein from the Washington Post.
Pelosi has attempted to keep these new representatives in check since their arrival on Capitol Hill, but it appears that they are no longer happy with the current arrangement. Now, many Democrats feel that Pelosi will need to be opposed or removed to help attack President Trump and force impeachment hearings. Media organizations are speaking out against Pelosi, like this article from the Washington Post.
On Sunday, newly independent Representative Justin Amash got in on the action calling Pelosi’s inaction a mistake. In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Amash called out Pelosi’s inaction and that she owes it to the American people to launch the impeachment inquiry. While Pelosi has indicated she believes there was impeachable conduct, but has been hesitant to launch impeachment investigations.
It seems Pelosi is losing control of these freshmen Representatives. They will not go down silently. Event AOC’s chief of staff got in on the action calling out Pelosi in several tweets.
The most interesting comment he made however, was one that ironically spoke the truth. Chakrabarti finally admitted that House Democrats have done nothing for the American people. It’s refreshing to see that it is possible for Democrats to admit they have done nothing. He must be oblivious since he states AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley have shown strategic smarts.
