Within the last week, at least 35 American lives gone at the hands of domestic terrorists. Also, another 80 injured due to the onslaught of violence at the hands of hate-filled, evil individuals, hell-bent on tearing communities apart and leaving citizens overcome with fear. The latest tragedy occurred at approximately 10:45 AM on Saturday, August 4th in El Paso, Texas. The shooter, a 21-year-old from Allen, Texas, was taken into police custody, charged with capital murder for his shooting rampage. Authorities have released information that suggests that the shooter meticulously planned and posted his heinous plan of terror on the online extremist forum 8chan.

According to FBI officials, and NBC NEWS, he uploaded what appeared to be a manifesto of sorts on the 8chan social network on or around 10:15 AM, twenty minutes before the first reports of the shooting flooded the El Paso Emergency Management Systems. Several reports state that in the uploaded document, he praises several other mass shooters. In particular, the March 2019, Christchurch, New Zealand mosque shooter, that took the lives of 51 people and injured another 49.
On the evening following the attacks, Kamala Harris took to Twitter demanding congressional gun reform and promising executive action if elected as president. As part of her executive action, Harris stated that she would order the “knocking on doors for those gun owners who fail to register their firearms.” In addition, candidate for president Harris stated that she would use the executive branch to ensure the removal of assault-style weapons from the hands of our nation’s citizens.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg quickly joined his fellow Democratic presidential candidates to condemn the attack; however, in an all too familiar Mayor Pete way, decided to politize yet another American tragedy in hopes of boosting his poll numbers after this week’s lackluster debate performance.
Mayor Pete couldn’t resist attempting to link a national tragedy to President Trump; “arguing that white nationalism inspired terrorism is condoned at the highest levels of American government.” Mayor Pete and the desperateness of the Democratic party was on full display when they intentionally incited propaganda to equate Donald Trump with domestic terrorism. Unfortunately, domestic terrorism has long plagued our nation; from the Oklahoma City bombing to the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. Someone, anyone, could be a target. Evil exists in this world, and the US is not immune. However, as a society, we are responsible for calling evil for what it is and where we see it. More so, we must refrain from relating race, sex, and gender identity to every action, every decision, every event.
Today’s tragic events in El Paso were unnecessary, un-Godly, and unconscionable. To snuff out the lives and light of 20 innocent victims is beyond most human comprehension. However, the Democratic presidential candidates are poised for an attempted pump in poll numbers – using a mass shooting as a mass media bonanza. Another troubled, misguided American youth has turned to violence. Has our society failed again? Has our educational system abandoned yet another to believe that cold-blooded murder is an acceptable action? There is no time for pompous political pundits amongst this Texas tragedy. No time for Mayor Pete, Kamala Harris and others to incite false claims of white supremacy against our nation’s Commander in Chief. These most recent 35 lost American lives deserve better than a Democratic Display of Do Me Good!
