For the past several years, we’ve heard the left cry about voter access and voter suppression. The left claims that having voter ID laws and even our current voting laws prohibits people from voting. This topic came to light again this week as Stacey Abrams, a former candidate for Governor in Georgia, has launched a new initiative. Her initiative, called Fair Fight 2020, will seek to focus on voter suppression in the 2020 elections in specific races.
But is voter suppression really an issue? According to leading Democrats it is. Even Joe Biden released a tweet on Sunday talking about this subject.

Democrats have argued that voter ID laws that are supported by conservatives around the country are simply an effort to suppress voters. Some articles have even went as far as to suggest Republicans would not win an election without voter suppression. I think these remarks are simply a stretch.
Voter ID laws assure that the person who is voting is not only a citizen but also here legally. Now, the left will argue immediately on my statement that voter fraud is not an issue. The ACLU has argued that requiring ID’s will restrict 11% of American citizens from voting. Most of the voter ID laws, such as the one in North Carolina where we are based, allowed for voters to not only obtain a free ID for the purpose of voting, but also vote in the absence of an ID as well.
So the issue really isn’t the lack of an ID, but rather the issue is with the fact that someone has to prove they are who they say they are and a legal citizen. A recent article I read cited that voter fraud is a myth of the right without any proof of existence. This article from the Heritage Foundation proves several instances of voter fraud. So now what is the argument from the left?
Well the argument solely revolves around the clause the ACLU likes to use of an “undue burden” on those who want to vote. With this argument, they simply state that it makes it more difficult for someone to vote. So I want to think about this for a moment. I have to show an ID at the doctors office, at the grocery store, or even to turn on power and water to my residence. In fact, I had to show multiple forms of ID for many things revolving around my home purchase. Those things are ok, but for me to have to show an ID to prove who I am is too much of a burden simply to vote?
So at the end of the day, what is the issue? Well there are a couple issues. First of all, Stacey Abrams has still yet to come to grasp with the fact she lost. SHE LOST. She didn’t lose an election by 1 vote or 5 votes, but by almost 55,000 votes. She’s still convinced, along with Hillary Clinton, that there is no way they could not have won the election.
The second issue is that Democrats need social issues to continue to push Republicans. Democrats have no policy to stand on, but rather social issues that they pander to special interests groups. They attempt to convince the African-American community and other minorities that Republicans are out to get them. The overwhelming majority of Republicans have no issue with minorities, they just want things to be done legally. Is it a crime to wish that the laws of a country are followed?
Last, Democrats rely on the illegal immigrant vote in major cities to ward off Republicans in rural areas. We’ve talked about this before on various podcast and blogs, how Democratic strongholds go hand in hand with illegal immigration and those voters in the larger cities. So it’s important that Democrats continue the pandering in an effort to continue to hold people to the Democratic Party. Even when the party continues to fail them year after year.
The voter suppression comments and rhetoric is simply just that, pointless rhetoric. Democrats are simply trying to maintain a voter base while trying to make Republicans look bad socially. Whether you are a Republican, or Independent, you should easily be able to see through the baseless lies of the Democratic Party. Voter suppression is a product of the pandering Democratic Party. Just like racism, bigotry and everything else you hear about in the news.
