In his latest attempt to garner attention, Bernie Sanders released a tax plan that will no doubt cause many eyes to raise. Sanders continued his attack on the wealthy saying that he in essence would tax them until they were poor.
There should be no billionaires. We are going to tax their extreme wealth and invest in working people. Read the plan: https://t.co/RJDLvX5H4c

According to the plan details, Sanders tax plan applies to wealth over $32 million and is expected to generate an additional $4.35 trillion in tax revenue over 10 years. Also, billionaires would see half of their wealth gone in 15 years according to Sanders plan. Sanders claimed the plan would help pay for the housing plan, child care plan and Medicare for All that he has proposed.
I am sure all of this sounds good to the young socialist followers of Bernie Sanders, but those of us who still understand how to do math are left scratching our heads. How exactly will $4.35 trillion pay for these socialist programs that Bernie has proposed? The simple answer is that they won’t.
According to Sanders website, his housing plan will cost over $2.38 trillion. Initial estimates show that his Medicare for All plan will cost $28-32 trillion. Combine this with his plan to wipe away $1.6 trillion in student debt and the estimated cost of the Green New Deal of over $90 trillion, it is easy to see how this doesn’t add up.
Sanders is not hiding the communist plans for the country that he has. Jeffrey Glen has a great article discussing the differences between socialism and communism. The changes Sanders proposes are not socialist, but rather they are communist. He is advocating for the elimination of class distinction. He is advocating against personal property and for public ownership. Communism says that you get what the government feels you deserve, exactly what Bernie Sanders is advocating for.
It’s time to stop calling these Democrats socialists, rather they are communists. Bernie Sanders and many of these other so called “socialists” enjoyed utilizing the capitalist system we have to make their way into a higher social class. Just because these billionaires were successful in their ventures does not mean that they are evil or should be made to be enemies.
In the end, the math of these communist policies just does not add up. Bernie Sanders and the other 2020 candidates and socialists as they call themselves can promise the world. In the end, their promises are empty. These programs will bankrupt our nation and further drive the social divide in the United States.
