When we started the website and podcast, I never thought I would have to write an article about ourselves. Yet, that is exactly what I am doing. Early this morning, we were notified by YouTube that we were being suspended permanently for a violation of terms of service.
In the e-mail, YouTube suggested that we were violating terms of service based on repeated or severe violations of Community Guidelines. We were shared a link of www.youtube.com/community_guidelines to review. According to the e-mail, it states that activity on our account violated these guidelines, which prohibit spam, scams or commercially deceptive content.
Immediately, I filed an appeal as the content we loaded on our page was simply our podcasts. In those podcasts, there were no attempts at spam, promoting spam, promoting scams or any deceptive content. I argued that the content on our page was similar in nature to other conservative news outlets. I cited the business structure and our desire to have an understanding of what exactly we violated and a chance to rectify the situation.
YouTube responded with another generic e-mail. In this one, they stated they decided to keep our account suspended based on Community Guidelines and Terms of Service providing the same link as above for review. We were referred to the help center and have since been told there are no other appeals allowed of the decision.
I challenge you to look through our content and listen to our podcasts and find where we were doing any of the given reasons. The only thing we violated is the liberal lefts ideals and desire to push propaganda across all areas of social media and news media. Since we do not align with those liberal values, it is our opinion that this is simply another means of YouTube attempting to silence conservative speech.
We are currently asking for help getting this message out there and asking YouTube to reconsider and reinstate our page. We are looking at all of the options available to us. We are more than happy to work with YouTube on a resolution for this case, but they seem unwilling to work with us.
