On Thursday, Rep. Katie Hill gave her final speech from the House floor. She gave it after casting a vote for the impeachment proceedings to begin. We recently highlighted how Democrats were facing some ethics issues, which included Rep. Hill. In the speech, she apologized, but from there it took a twist.
In her speech, Hill claimed that she was not ready for her time in Congress to end. She blamed her resignation on a double standard and a misogynistic culture. She claimed conservatives distributed her compromising photographs for the sexual entertainment of millions.
The problem is that Hill’s statements prove everything that is wrong with Democrats. Let’s begin with the complaint of a double standard and misogynistic culture. As I highlighted in my article about the ethics issues, there was also a male member of Congress facing similar investigations for ethics violations. It’s hard to argue that this is a war on women when the same type of investigation was occurring involving a male counterpart as well.
Hill then proceeds to state that it’s a double standard. No matter if it was Republican or Democrat, the accusations she faced would have led to an ethics investigation. Why? Because it is a direct violation of the House Code of Conduct. Item 18 under the House of Representatives Code of Official Conduct states, “A Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner may not engage in a sexual relationship with any employee of the House who works under the supervision of the Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner, or who is an employee of a committee on which the Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner serves.”
That’s pretty clear that the relationship she had with a staffer is a violation. So the only claim that remains is that the photos were distributed for sexual entertainment. I don’t know about you, I have no desire to see these photos and did not even want to know they existed. I find this claim hard to believe as well, but hey this is the only option for a complaint she has left.
Her statement highlights everything that is wrong with Democrats however. Democrats do not believe that they have to abide by any laws or rules. If they do not like the rules, they simply change them to fit their ideas or desires. For example, belong to a church that is against homosexual marriage? Well they’ll simply change the rules so that church cannot exist. Or we can talk about the change of impeachment proceedings to try to impeach Trump. Please don’t get me started on the border issues as well.
If you disagree with a Democrat, you are creating a hate culture. Whether its on women, liberals, special interest groups or anything else, it’s simply hate speech because you disagree with them. Democrats do not want to live by any standards or morals. They should not have to abide by any laws if those laws are against something they want to do. Sound familiar? It should because that’s the only game plan Democrats know. The only rules that apply for Democrats are those they make up and force on conservatives.
The way Democrats function today is simply a disgrace. They have no desire to work with the right. Democrats simply want their way and are willing to act like a bunch of toddlers in order to get it. In the end, Katie Hill symbolizes everything that is wrong with the Democratic Party. She is someone that hates rules, hates conservatives, but most of all, hates she got caught.
