After much investigation and thought, the verdict can still be cast as not guilty. That is in reference to guns being to blame for mass shootings in the USA. We discussed one recently, now there are details of two new shootings from over the weekend.
On Sunday night at least 10 were shot in Fresno, California at a football watch party. The shooting was targeting the family of someone at the residence. Apparently, the person was involved in a disturbance last week. The shooting is considered retaliatory for this.
On Monday, three people were killed in Oklahoma in a shooting at a Wal-Mart store. Initial reports are this was an act of domestic violence, with the gunman and two other people being the deceased. Reports also state that the gunman was stopped by another gun owner on site with a weapon. The indication is that the gun owner walked up to the shooter and told him to stop shooting, at which time he turned the gun on himself.
In all three situations that are described, guns have been laid blame by the left. While they have backed off their claims regarding the Oklahoma shooting, they still wish to blame guns for any other shooting that happens.
I'm sickened to once again wake up to news of a mass shooting.
My heart goes out to the community of Fresno, the first responders on the scene, and the victims’ families.
We can't go on with the status quo. You should be able to feel safe in your own backyard.

Joe Biden also called for action to end the “gun violence epidemic.”
Sunday night in a backyard. Monday morning at a store. We must do everything in our power to end this gun violence epidemic because we cannot go on like this any longer.
Our hearts go out to those affected by these senseless tragedies. https://t.co/jiH6jhyKfw

The problem is, the issue is not the guns. You can put the guns on trial any way you want, but the gun did not purposefully kill anyone. I have been around guns my entire life. Never once have I seen a gun fire without some sort of interaction by an individual. It takes someone to make the gun fire, someone to make the decision to pull that trigger.
Yet, the left wants to blame the gun for the issue. Now, gun manufacturers are in the cross hairs for legal action, when they simply are making a utensil. Gun manufacturers are no more responsible for mass shootings than a fork manufacturer is for obesity.
No matter how you look at it, a gun is not guilty of killing anyone. The person who operates the gun is the one who makes the decision to pull the trigger. The issue is not the need for gun reform, gun control, gun confiscation or any other Democrat talking point. The issue lies behind the gun, in the person that is using them. Removing guns will not end violent crimes, it will only change how they are performed.
