The Trump campaign responds to Bloomberg News and their memo regarding the 2020 election. On Monday, the Trump Campaign officially blocked Bloomberg News from press credentials to cover campaign events. This is in response to a recent memo by the editor-in-Chief.
Some sites argue this is an impingement on free speech and free press. I would disagree. There are other things at play in this scenario that must be considered. For example, how can a news organization truly cover a subject unbiased if they are unwilling to do investigative reporting. This is a foundation of journalism.
In the memo that was released, the editor-in-Chief stated they would not investigate Michael Bloomberg. Of course, Bloomberg owns Bloomberg News. In addition, the organization said it would no longer investigate the other 2020 Democratic candidates. But then the editor would argue they are unbiased.
How can you be unbiased if you refuse to do your part as a news organization? The company is continuing to do investigative reporting into President Trump. So in essence, they do not care if a Democrat is corrupt. They are only investigating if Trump is corrupt. I find this appalling.
So no, this is not impeding on their free press and free speech rights. They are blatantly ignoring the role of a media organization. They have argued that they are unbiased, but the actions speak otherwise. I have no issue with the Trump campaign restricting their press access. But there is another issue here.
This openly proves that news organizations are willing to overlook things from the Democrats side, to continue to investigate President Trump. Imagine if Bloomberg wins the nomination or election, are we simply going to stop covering politics at Bloomberg News? This is another showing of how the press in our nation is out to control the politics.
The media is not interested in any kind of impartial or fair coverage. I sound like I am on repeat with this statement. They are simply out to destroy Trump. The Democrats certainly do get the fair shake of media coverage in the primary. Yet again, it’s prove in the case of Bloomberg News. We are so close to government controlled news. Obama started it in his administration, however, the media and left have almost perfected it now.
The media and Democrats no longer try to hide their collusion to control he political narrative. With recent events at CNN and their biased reporting, Trump is constantly on offense. The media is not what it used to be in our country and that’s sad. But, President Trumps ready and willing to take them on to defend our country.
