On Monday, closing arguments were heard in the impeachment trial of President Trump. Democrats made their calls to convict the President on the basis that he would continue to cheat. It’s certainly an interesting article from a party that has been none to push the limits of acceptable behavior themselves. What else would we expect from Adam Schiff and company?
Rep. Schiff appealed to Republicans in an effort to have them convict President Trump. His statements that Trump would be 100% certain to cheat in the coming months were pleas to remove a President that the Democrats simply hate. Schiff argued that you simply cannot trust this President to do the right thing. Tell that to his supporters.
Truthfully, many support this President because they believe he is doing the right thing. Not that he always says the right thing, but that he is doing the right thing. That is, specifically, putting America first. It’s a big change from what the Democrats are doing, by pandering to every special interest group in existence.
Media outlets have quickly transitioned this into the Republican bashing we knew it would become. The Democrats only goal now is to secure the backing of at least one Republican. If they do this, they will argue that it is no longer a partisan process. They will overlook that Democrats voted against impeachment in the House. All eyes are on the Senate.
Democrats have sought to turn any argument against impeachment on itself. They have attempted to turn the President’s defense statements against him. Even though some like Dershowitz have come out as not supporting Trump or Trump’s actions, the Democrats will not be happy unless he is impeached. Democrats want to point all the fingers at Republicans, even though they have been caught doing similar things.
They do not want to discuss the actions by Joe Biden in Ukraine. They want to ignore the actions of Hillary Clinton and the DNC in the 2016 campaign. None of that matters, it’s only about their hatred of this President and how they eliminate him. Democrats want to eliminate the results of the 2016 election, but they know it’s essentially impossible.
I have said it many times, Trump’s actions were not great. He has said and done many things I do not agree with, but that’s a long list of people besides him. If I expected someone perfect, I certainly wouldn’t be looking for a politician to fill that role no matter their party affiliation.
Democrats will continue to push for Republicans to bail on the President. They know they cannot remove him before the 2020 election, but they can cause a divide in the Republican Party that will help them in 2020. That is exactly what the Democrats are after. While Trump is not perfect and his actions are not perfect, he has our country first. Conservatives must realize he is the best option for President and stick behind him!
