(Washington) – Earlier this week, President Trump appointed Vice President Mike Pence to lead a task force to combat the spread of the coronavirus, defying calls to appoint an outside expert to coordinate the response.
Since the onset of the virus, countries around the world, particularly in Asia, have seen their economies crumble. Businesses and schools closed, and markets have halted to a standstill. Here in the United States, stocks have fallen sharply due to fears of the virus spreading into the country. On Thursday, the Dow plunged 1,100 points or 4.4%. The Dow had its worst day since February 2018 while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 posted its most significant one-day loss since August 2011.
Before and after President Trump appointed Vice President Pence to lead the charge to combat the coronavirus, Democrats and the liberal media have attempted to ramp up and distort the severity of the virus. The outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has spread throughout China and to 31 other countries and territories, including the United States.
By The Numbers
Fourteen cases have been diagnosed in the United States, in addition to 39 cases among repatriated persons from high-risk settings, for a current total of 53 cases within the United States. The U.S. government and public health partners are implementing aggressive measures to slow and contain transmission of COVID-19 in the United States.
As of February 23, 2020, there were 76,936 reported cases in mainland China and 1,875 cases in locations outside mainland China. There have been 2,462 associated deaths worldwide; no deaths have been reported in the United States. Fourteen cases have been diagnosed in the United States, and an additional 39 cases have occurred among repatriated persons from high-risk settings, for a current total of 53 cases within the United States.
The coronavirus and its impacts are not to be ignored. However, it must be understood that the spread of this virus and its mortality rate is far less than human Influenza. Influenza (“the flu”) and COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus, are both infectious respiratory illnesses. Although the symptoms of COVID-19 and the flu can look similar, the two diseases are caused by different viruses.
As of February 27, 2020, the flu is showing much more of an impact on Americans than COVID-19. You can find up-to-date information on COVID-19 at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
So, are Democrats intentionally attempting to make the COVID-19 into a political pandemic? All suggestions indicate so! Since Trump’s inauguration, The American Economy has broken historical records. Unemployment across all demographic spectrums are at the lowest measure in over 50 years. Although the Democrats have attacked Trump on his character and Twitter tirades, they have not been able to position themselves against him and his economic success.
Now, on the eve of Super Tuesday, the “Shallow Pool” Democratic Candidates need to show promise. They must find a way to attack Trump. Now, with the stability of the national and global economies in jeopardy, the Left can undermine the success of the Trump Economy, and position themselves to attack it and its vulnerability to outside influences. Enter COVID-19.
Into Super Tuesday, the Democrats will offer up “Doomsday” scenarios to cast fear among the masses. Companies are buying up medical supplies, including vital N95 Respirators, in an attempt to scare the American People into thinking that they are “defenseless” against this disease, and only “THEY” can manage to bring safety and security to them. Democrats will use fear of health and money to attack Trump in their attempt to catapult a Communist into the White House.
