Washington D.C. – India, the most densely populated country in the world, is now under a national lock down. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in a TV address on Tuesday night, warning that anyone outside risked inviting the coronavirus inside their homes. The Indian government has pledged over $2 billion into its national healthcare system to counter the spread of COVID-19.
Expressing his concern for the spread of the virus, Modi announced that if India failed to “manage COVID-19 over the next 21 days, the effects could last for 21 years.”
