With each passing day, hard working Americans are now struggling. The economy has fallen, jobs are on hold. People are unable to leave their homes due to stay orders. Many wonder how they will afford food and other vital things. Meanwhile, Democrats are laughing and trying to exploit the plight of Americans.
There are two great examples of this just over the past several days. The first comes courtesy of Mike Bloomberg. Bloomberg made promises to his campaign staff of paying them through November. It’s was a great opportunity for these workers to have a secure job through the election. That was until those jobs disappeared.
As many as 2,000 workers were promised these jobs. Earlier this month and again last week, Bloomberg laid off these employees with benefits and pay ending by the end of month or first week of April respectively. Those employees have decided to file a class action suit against Bloomberg. It was just an empty promise to those workers.
Then we come to the negotiations for the aid for Americans. Senate Democrats and Republicans had negotiated on a deal throughout the weekend. It appeared that each side had made concessions and the bill was ready to move forward. Until Nancy Pelosi arrived. It’s reported that Pelosi (D-C.A.) flew into Washington with a laundry list of demands. According to Ben Williamson, chief of staff for Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), Pelosi had a laundry list.
Senate spends all weekend negotiating a bipartisan deal. Agreement reached. Pelosi flies in from California, whips out her unrelated “wishlist,” and says no. Senate Democrats then vote against proceeding on a bill they negotiated.

What did that laundry list include? Requests for increased union negotiation power, restrictions on an ailing airline industry, a push for green energy and of course student debt forgiveness. While Republicans have agreed to student debt assistance in allowing payments to go on hold without interest, Pelosi wants debt forgiveness. It sounds like a Democratic presidential platform more than a relief plan for Americans.
But the Democrats have no issues putting the country on hold. This chaos and crisis is what they thrive on. During the 111th Congress, they passed the horrible American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The legislation was a failure and did nothing for the recession. Even though the promise was shovel ready jobs, all Americans received was larger government.
It was just more empty promises from the Democrats. They couldn’t fix the economy then with their bloated government ideas and increased regulations. Their ideas will not work now to stimulate the economy either. We need to let the free market work. This is not accomplished through punishing the airlines while they are suffering. It’s not made by giving away free things.
Decreases in regulation and giving the private sector resources to succeed is necessary right now. If small businesses and private businesses fail, America fails. We cannot tolerate this childish behavior from the Democrats.
The left has proven time and again they are nothing more than empty promises. They have proven that their allegiance is not to the American people. They are only concerned with themselves and their agenda. It’s time for Democrats to put America first.
