Milwaukee, W.I. – Democrats have postponed their national convention until August due to the coronavirus. This comes as many states have had it postpone their primary contests due to stay orders in place. According to Axios, this would place the DNC the week before the Republican National Convention.
The move comes just one day after Joe Biden had suggested the move on a late night TV show. Fears over the spread of the coronavirus continue to cause issues all across the country. Currently, the United States leads all nations in reporting over 217,000 cases of coronavirus. While the US has the most current cases, there are questions to the accuracy of the numbers. This is just the latest in moves across the political spectrum to reschedule events. At this time, at least 15 states have postponed primary elections.
