Charlotte, N.C. – The Chinese government is causing shortages of critical medical supplies in the United States. That is according to reports from administration officials as cited by the New York Post. Executives from 3M and Honeywell apparently reported the restrictions in January to White House officials.
The news was just released, but hasn’t been covered in the main stream media. Why? Because many of them continue on the narrative that President Trump is evil trying to keep masks here. I do have a problem with how 3M responded to the administrations request, but this is a big problem. A much bigger problem.
We all understand that much of our manufacturing is located in China. From the beginning, Trump has pushed an America first initiative. The media and the left have said he was causing a divide from our neighbors. They accused him of being xenophobic and a racist bigot. Yet again, he was right all along.
This is a power play by China. Sure, China had a huge outbreak of the coronavirus. They have continued to lie about the numbers of coronavirus cases that they have experienced. I commented previously that this helps the Chinese government look strong.
What helps them even more is having critical medical supplies that everyone else needs. As the US moves to keep supplies at home, other nations are forced to look elsewhere. Where do they have to turn? Obviously, they have to look to China. That’s exactly what Canada has done.
Canada is not the only one that is turning to China. The state of New York has turned to them as well. Governor Andrew Cuomo said that the Chinese government was sending 1,000 ventilators to the state of New York to help. Yes, the communist country of China is the one that is turning out to be the one saving everyone else.
The story continues to get better. In addition to stopping the personal protection items from leaving the country, China stockpiled more. According to the NY Post story, China stockpiled around $1.2 billion worth of medical equipment. The equipment came from locations all around the globe. To quote what was said in the Post article:
The gear, valued at nearly $1.2 billion, included more than 2 billion masks and more than 25 million “protective clothing” items that came from countries in the European Union, as well as Australia, Brazil and Cambodia, the official said.
Does this sound like a country that is interested in being a partner to the world? Absolutely not. It sounds like a country that is capitalizing on a virus that originated in their country. They withheld vital information from the rest of the world, yet they want to appear as “partners” in the issue.
This is not how partners act. I expect each country to take care of their own, but it appears China willingly stockpiled equipment to make the rest of the world suffer. As the rest of the world is stuck in their quarantines and battling this virus, China is capitalizing.
I must ask the question, is this an act of war? Is China attempting to force the rest of the world to turn to them for support and relief? If so, this raises so many more questions. I don’t know that it is the case. I certainly am not trying to feed a conspiracy theory, either. But this is unacceptable and I cannot wait to see how Trump handles it.
