Charlotte, N.C. – Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) is ending his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. Sanders had once been seen as a front runner for the nomination, but is officially ending his bid. The path to a potential nomination win for Sanders was virtually non-existent.
With Sanders dropping out, Biden is now the confirmed nominee to face President Trump in the November election. Recently, Biden held discussions with Sanders about his process for picking a nominee. In those conversations, he told Bernie that he had a place for him in the administration.
As the process continues, it will be interesting to see how Sanders supporters back Joe Biden. Many felt as if they were rejected in the process in 2016. Sanders policies and vision for America are a stark contrast to the vision of most Americans. We will be watching for how Joe Biden incorporates those into his platform to appeal to the entire party.
