New York, NY – Earlier this week, AOC took to a video to complain about congressional action in the coronavirus response. In her video, she complains about how the bill does not fix the problem. She lays out her complaints throughout the video.
But apparently she did not realize what she was arguing for. Throughout the video, she argues that Congress needs to get back to work. She claims that they have been out of work for over a month while people are dying and suffering. Isn’t this the same thing that Republicans have been arguing?
She talks about how the absence of Congress is two rent checks missed. She talks about a lot of other issues, but the entire time the message is clear. AOC wants to go back to work! She is missing work after a month of being out of work.
"Congress is abdicating responsibility…and thousands of people are dying every day. Every time we pass one of these bills we're hearing that the real solution is coming in the next bill, and at some point we have to raise our hands and say, when is the solution coming?" –@AOC pic.twitter.com/BxM3REYjop

AOC shares the same sentiment of Americans all across the country. People have missed the ability to earn money to pay their bills and afford food. Americans are tired of the displacement and the layoffs. These are all unnecessary because this is a government manufactured crisis.
This is not an issue of lack of government funding. It’s an issue that Americans are being kept from going back to work. But AOC doesn’t understand the economics behind it all. That can be seen in her other statements she has made.
While Americans are struggling, she suggested rolling back the tax cuts that put more money into Americans pockets. Her solution is to give Americans money from the government rather than allowing them to keep money they have worked for. She simply things that big government is there to take care of everyone.
While she’s advocating for herself to get back to work, she’s also been advocating for her Green New Deal plan as well as a green clothing line that someone is coming out with. She suggests she is willing to buy a lot of them. That’s something a lot of Americans wish they could afford.
Rather than advocating for herself to go back to work, maybe AOC should remember that she is a representative. She stands in the place of others and argues on their behalf. She should be arguing for her constituents to go back to work.
This is not about Congress or about government. This is the problem with government in the United States. They think that everything is all about them. Those in Congress are our representatives. They should be arguing for us.
Instead, the government is controlling us. They are attempting to tell us what to do and how to live without consideration for us. This is far from true representation. Our country went through this once before. Maybe it’s time that some of these progressives pick up a history book and learn about our country’s founding.
