Charlotte, NC – On Saturday, eight more sailors aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt tested positive for the coronavirus. It wasn’t just that they tested positive. These sailors had a positive test, went through 14 days of quarantine with two negative tests, and tested positive again. According to the AP report, this raises the number to 13 who have tested positive a second time.
The message of potential second infections causes concerns on many levels. The media has ran the narrative about immunity for some time. They have questioned the potential of immunity.
Most major news outlets continue to report that there is no evidence of immunity to coronavirus. They continue to try to cast doubt on the potential of immunity. But there’s something interesting buried in the AP article that must be considered.
The article talks about how there are issues with the accuracy of the testing. It describes how the levels of the virus must reach a certain threshold to register as positive.
As with any new processes, some errors must be found and improved upon. One of those comes in the area of coronavirus testing. There have been instances where testing is inaccurate.
One such case is the rapid test by Abbott Laboratories. This test has been proven to fill a massive need in the medical industry, but it is far from perfect.
NPR also ran an article that described some of the challenges of testing. In the article, it’s shared how the rapid test above and even the lab test performed by swab, both have issues with accuracy. It continues to highlight that no matter how many more tests we do, we will never grasp the full extent to where coronavirus has spread.
Then there’s the discussion of immunity. Many have argued that there is no proof of immunity. The media ran wild with this recently, but it’s just another great example of fake news. Dr. Anthony Fauci, whether you like him or not, testified about this recently before Congress.
In his statements, Fauci says that it is most likely that once the virus has been contracted, someone would develop immunity. Why will he not say it is definite? He says we need lengthy research and to determine what level of antibody presence confirms protection.
The media refuses to talk about confirmed immunity. They want those who have recovered from the coronavirus to stay home and continue to push down our economy. That’s the only solution they present.
If you look at reality and face the facts, coronavirus is not going away. It’s more widespread than generally believed. It is time to start having serious discussions about getting back to normal.
We can protect those most at risk of severe complications and even death through common-sense measures. Most people will be willing to wear masks and social distance. In most settings, it is not an issue.
More people are suffering at the hand of the restrictions than are suffering due to coronavirus. With over 30 million out of work, we have to get our economy back on track. That means realizing that the virus is not going away, and that we can sensibly reopen our economy.
The concerning part is that there is no sense of urgency for the 30 million people that are suffering due to the stay orders. The Democrats and the left-wing media are only concerned with big government and spreading propaganda. It’s time to get serious about helping everyone, instead of just a few.
