Tucson, AZ – In Tucson, Arizona, the Mayor is telling police that their lives do not matter. Organizers submitted a request to paint a thin blue line in front of the Tucson Police Department as a showing of support for the officers. The city manager approved the request, but the Mayor has a different opinion.
Mayor Regina Romero said that doing such would be a divisive measure among residents of Tucson. In her comments, she stated, “I unequivocally disavow the effort that serves to incite and divide our community, and minimizes the Black Lives Matter movement.” The Black Lives Matter movement has sought to defund the police across the country amid accusations of widespread police brutality.
Romero claims that the individual who wants to pain the line has ties to white supremacy ideology, but her reasoning for that accusation is not clear. She said that painting such a line in support of law enforcement may not be reflective of the cities values. It’s perfectly clear it is not reflective of the Mayor’s values.

The Thin Blue Line is in support of law enforcement. The symbol was made to be symbolic of law enforcement of all types and is a sign of honor and respect to those who choose to risk their lives to protect others.
Law enforcement across this country deserve some recognition and support after liberals, like Romero, have abandoned them in favor of pandering for votes. These law enforcement officers risk their lives to protect the lives and property of Americans each and every day. Yet, we cannot allow a simple painting to honor them, because it undermines a movement that wants to destroy American history and culture.
The Tucson Mayor had no issues with hanging a Black Lives Matter banner over the city hall. She hung this banner to a group that has leaders who have openly called for the destruction of monuments across the country. They have called for the destruction of private property and businesses. This is not a group that is peaceful or working for social justice causes as they claim. Let’s be honest, they are a racist hate group themselves.
The Tucson Mayor is showing where her allegiance lies. It’s not for those who protect and serve in her city. It’s not to the safety of the citizens and their overall wellbeing. Her allegiance is to herself, and how she can pander to special interest groups to win reelection.
