Charlotte, NC – The second night of the RNC was filled with more expected mainstream media bias, but also some great speeches. While the media has committed to fact-checking and criticizing everything that happened, here is our take on the events from Tuesday night.
Tuesday night featured several prominent Trump’s that gave speeches. Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump both gave speeches. The most controversial was probably Eric’s, who CNN and others have immediately said that it was filled with falsehoods. The text of both speeches can be found here.
The main sections that mainstream outlets argue are Trump’s comments about Biden on the second amendment and Biden on defunding the police. Biden has said that he supports law enforcement, but he favors putting any new funding into community policing that may occur outside of traditional law enforcement agencies.
Biden also favors severely restricting second amendment rights. While the second amendment would not be entirely removed, the availability of firearms would be significantly restricted. Biden has committed to banning “assault weapons” as well as imposing gun purchasing limits.
First Lady Melania Trump also made a fantastic speech on Tuesday night. Many had ridiculed her in 2016, accusing her of plagiarizing a speech from Michelle Obama. She put all those critics to rest with a fantastic speech last night. She spoke directly to the American people and was honest and sincere. A text of her speech can be found here.
Another great message was delivered by Daniel Cameron, the Kentucky Attorney General. Cameron has faced criticism recently due to the Breonna Taylor incident in Kentucky. He has not placed charges on the officers involved, as many have wanted in the situation.
In his comments, Cameron spoke directly about remarks by Joe Biden. In his comments, he said of Biden, “If you aren’t voting for me, you ain’t black. You can’t tell me how to vote because of the color of my skin.”
Night 3 of the RNC kicks off on Wednesday evening with Vice President Mike Pence, his wife Karen Pence, and Kellyanne Conway scheduled to speak. Pence is scheduled to give his remarks from Fort McHenry in Baltimore.
