Washington, DC — On Wednesday, President Donald Trump pardoned former National Security Advisor, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, in the middle of an ongoing four-year criminal case, the Epoch Times reported.
“It is my Great Honor to announce that General Michael T. Flynn has been granted a Full Pardon. Congratulations to @GenFlynn and his wonderful family; I know you will now have a truly fantastic Thanksgiving!,” the President wrote on his Twitter account.

General Flynn’s case was used in order to try to claim that the Trump campaign had conspired with the ‘Kremlin’ in order to try to sway the outcome of the 2016 election. Flynn was then charged over whether or not he had lied about having calls with the former Russian Ambassador to the United States, Sergey Kislyak.
Flynn then pleaded guilty to lying to having spoken with a Russian diplomat. However, Flynn later withdrew his plea before even being sentenced. He is represented by Sidney Powell, a well-known attorney, The Epoch Times reported.
Flynn served as the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency under the Obama administration, before serving in President Trump’s administration.
However, the President’s pardon of Flynn has been met with criticism. Rep. Adam Schiff explained in an interview on CNN, “President Trump is ‘acting like an organized crime figure,’ @RepAdamSchiff says about a possible pardon for Michael Flynn. “But this is who Donald Trump is. It’s who he was on the way into the presidency. It will be exactly who he is on his last days of the presidency.”
