Los Angeles, CA — On Monday, the new Los Angeles DA George Gascon was sworn into office. Gascon immediately set out on his new agenda announcing sweeping changes to the nation’s largest prosecutor’s office.
According to ABC7, Gascon will no longer seek the death penalty in any case under his jurisdiction, and he will eliminate cash bail for misdemeanors, non-violent and non-serious offenses. He announced this would be the largest change among a prosecutor’s office in history.
In his statements, Gascon said that he will work to resentence those who are currently on death row. He wants to overturn those sentences and change them into life in prison sentences. He cited mass incarceration and extreme sentencing laws as the justification for his position.
He also issued a memo to many prosecutors saying that certain crimes will no longer be prosecuted. Things like prostitution, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace and driving without a license.
Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire reports that George Soros invested over $2 million into the race to help Gascon defeat the incumbent DA.

The move by Gascon will make law enforcement jobs more difficult across Los Angeles. Violent crime is on the rise in Los Angeles and will continue to rise without punishment. Without fear of punishment for their actions, why would any criminal resist the urge?
The continued ridiculous actions of radical progressives across the country make their citizens and our country unsafe. The people of California deserve safety and security. The law enforcement of Los Angeles deserve support and help to do their jobs.
Gascon has shown he has no desire to do his job or protect his citizens. Instead, he wants Los Angeles to descend into a more lawless state, allowing George Soros a perfect setting for additional riots and violence.
