Charlotte, NC — Former President Barack Obama was recently awarded the PEN America Voice of Influence Award. As part of the award, he recorded an interview with Ron Chernow that was played as part of the virtual gala. While much of the conversation was about his book, writing, and general life, he made some interesting comments about his presidency.
In one segment, Chernow asked Obama about his search for “some common core Of meaning and decency.” Obama responded by saying he was proud of how well he felt he bridged the two worlds between conservatives and liberals. He said that he felt he was able to have a connection with conservatives while he was a Senator and when he ran for the presidency.
He continued by commenting that he did not know if he could make that same connection now. He said the blame lied solely in the fact that his presidency was being filtered through conservative media like Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. You can view the full interview in the video below.
Obama’s move to blame conservative media continues the attacks of the left on any media outlet that refuses to comply with their message. He said that conservative media is not concerned about facts, instead focusing on their assumptions about him through the filter of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. He also suggested that conservative media ignores journalistic norms.
While Obama and the left want to continue to attack conservative media, they continue to ignore that the liberal mainstream media ignores the facts. If facts are what establish journalistic norms, then why are mainstream outlets not reporting on Hunter Biden, voter fraud, etc. Instead, they choose to ignore the facts and promote the liberal cause.
The truth is that the left does not tolerate criticism well. They operate under the premise that everyone must blindly trust and comply with their mission and message. There are over 75 million Americans that disagree with that ideology.
Obama realizes, just like the mainstream media, that it is much easier to confuse and mislead people to follow you if you have no one that shares an opposing viewpoint. This is why we see big tech and social media outlets continuing the attack against conservative sites. They do not like opposition.
Time and again during the Obama administration the American people were told one thing, while the administration did something else. As conservative media outlets called out the lies and corruption, the Democrats could not handle the scrutiny. It was not spreading of fake news or lies, but simply telling the truth about the radical agenda.
The mainstream media and the left as a whole are attempting to claim that same role under their declared President-elect Joe Biden. They believe they have the attention of the country following the election and want to continue to push the disinformation campaign against Conservatives.
We need conservative media in this country for the arguments of facts and opposing viewpoints now, more than ever before.
