Charlotte, NC — On Wednesday morning, Democrats are projected to take control of the US Senate, giving them full control of the US Government. The races were closer than most polls predicted.
In the early morning hours, radical Democrat Raphael Warnock was projected the winner over Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R). Warnock is the first Democrat elected to the Senate from Georgia in 20 years, and the states first Black Senator. A strong African-American turnout propelled Warnock to victory over Loeffler.
Just after 8 a.m., Ossoff was leading Perdue by approximately 16,000 votes. Based on the votes still outstanding, Newsmax and Decision Desk HQ have projected Ossoff the winner of this race.
Ossoff had trailed in the polling for much of the race until the last few weeks. Strong performance in the metropolitan areas for Democrats boosted Ossoff past Perdue.
The win creates a tie in the Senate: 50 Democrats to 50 Republicans. The tie-breaking vote now belongs to the Vice President. Unless Republicans successfully overturn the Electoral College vote on Wednesday, that will be Kamala Harris.
Democrats have made many key promises if they were to gain full control. They have promised another massive coronavirus aid package that includes $2,000 checks for Americans. They have also promised to focus on key issues, such as gun control, tax law, climate change, and more.
