Charlotte, NC — CNN opinion host Don Lemon denounced Republicans who praised GOP member Martin Luther King Jr. yesterday after supporting a “racist” man like President Trump during his show which airs weeknights from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
“One Republican after another apparently hoping that you’ll forget their support for a president who used race to pit Americans against each other,” said Lemon.
This ridiculous rant included a quote from MLK, Jr’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” about his disgusted “shallow understanding” and “lukewarm acceptance.
“Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection,” said King.
Lemon cast King and Trump as representing two “opposite” extremes: love and hate. Sadly, Lemon loves to hate Republicans but is also painfully unaware of the history of the GOP.
According to History.com, the Republican Party was founded in Ripon, Wisconsin, as former members of the Whig Party seeking to establish a new party to oppose the spread of slavery into the western territories. The Whig Party, which was formed in 1834 to oppose the “tyranny” of President Andrew Jackson, had shown itself incapable of coping with the national crisis over slavery.
Lemon’s ignorant comments continued saying, “Donald Trump created an environment where white supremacists and conspiracy theorists overran the Capitol of the United States of America. He used race to divide us from the very beginning,” Lemon said. “All of that is the opposite of what Dr. King stood for, what he died for more than 50 years ago,” he later added.
“One Republican after another apparently hoping that you’ll forget their support for a president who used race to pit Americans against each other.”

Lemon was following the lead of “The View” co-host, Sunny Hostin, where earlier in the day she attempted to scold Republicans for their praise of Martin Luther King.
“We saw an insurrection in our nation’s Capitol. We saw that there are people just like Dr. King said that would much rather have white supremacy rather than this multiracial democracy that he wished for,” said Hostin. “So, I would say that in order for us to really live out his legacy, his dream, is that we must demand truth before unity. I saw today, unbelievably, in my view, Ted Cruz, Kayleigh McEnany, Ronna McDaniel, Melania Trump, quoting Dr. King, tweeting Dr. King. Those are the same people, like Melania Trump with this birther lie, Ted Cruz challenging the Electoral College. Kayleigh McEnany over and over again with her propaganda. How dare they. How dare they try to quote Dr. King on the celebration of his birthday when they enabled, enabled a racist president causing this insurrection and attack on our democracy. So while we have some progress, we just have such a long way to go.”
Lemon has a history of making outlandish and ridiculous claim on his show. The racist and bigoted host recently suggested that all Trump voters have sided with the KKK and Nazis.
“If you are on that side, you need to think about the side you are on. I am never on the side of the Klan. Principled people, conservative or liberal, never on the Klan’s side. Principled people, conservative or liberal, never on the Nazi’s side.”
“Principled people, conservative or liberal, never on the side that treats their fellow Americans as less than, that says that your fellow Americans should not exist. That says your fellow Americans should be in a concentration camp, or sides with slavery, or sides with any sort of bigotry,” Lemon added.
Lemon has been on a tear since what happened at the Capitol, using his nightly program on CNN to blame the millions of conservatives who voted for Trump for the violence that took place on January 6 as the House and Senate prepared to convene to affirm Electoral College votes.
Each night as Chris Cuomo’s show ends and Don Lemon’s is about to begin, the two members of an exclusive bromance have become famous for their nightly disgusting and hateful venting session.
In fact, the following these quotes are perfect examples of the hatred and disdain these two “journalists” have for millions of Trump voters:
“You’re in the crowd who voted for Trump. If you voted for Trump, you voted for the person who the Klan supported. You voted for the person who Nazis support. You voted for the person who the alt-right supports. That’s the crowd that you are in,” Lemon insisted. “You voted for the person who incited a crowd to go into the Capitol and potentially take the lives of lawmakers. Took the lives of police officers. Took the lives of innocent lives who were there on the Capitol that day.”
While it wasn’t clear from the video clip, one could easily imagine Lemon and Cuomo trying to keep a straight face as they pretended to care about “the lives of police officers.”
CNN’s resident media hall monitor Brian Stelter has tried to defend Lemon and Cuomo in the past from charges they are liberally biased news anchors, laughably asserting that their shows are “newscasts that have opinionated voices on them.”
Either way, their attempts at “journalsiming” have become pathetic tirades laced with the venom they have toward President Trump, the Republican Party, and Trump’s supporters and voters. But, hey, the Left is all about ‘unity’ now, right?
