CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Political commentator and YouTube personality Steven Crowder disclosed via Twitter on Tuesday that he had been hospitalized for a collapsed lung, a complication from a surgical procedure Crowder underwent earlier this month for a rare heart condition caused by a connective tissue disorder.
Crowder, whose YouTube channel has amassed almost 5.5 million subscribers, tweeted:

As is often the case whenever any form of misfortune befalls anyone on the right, Twitter’s finest turned out in droves to hurl some of the vilest filth imaginable at the commentator. In addition to the thousands of users slinging around lewd jokes and profane epithets behind a thin veil of anonymity, several of the platform’s more prominent leftists issued similarly touching condolences:

This, of course, comes from the same platform that saw “Good Riddance” trend after the passing of conservative media titan Rush Limbaugh this February.
This is par for the course for the left. There is a false sense of moral superiority embedded in leftist philosophy — one which suggests that only the left understand the plight of the downtrodden, and that only the left have any regard for human life and issues of so-called racial, social, and economic justice. In turn, disagreement must naturally indicate not only moral inferiority, but moral depravity in the eyes of the left — therefore, your death ought to be met with celebration.
This is barbaric — and it’s something in which an uncomfortably large number of people on the left have openly reveled for quite some time.
