Concord, NH — Most people reading this post title may not have gotten to this point in the story. Most people do not know who April Ryan is, and honestly, I hope most people do not know April Ryan and certainly don’t listen to her race-baiting rhetoric. April Ryan is the White House Correspondent for the very popular “The Grio” and has been in that post since 2020. From 1997 to 2020, she was the White House Correspondent and D.C. Bureau Chief for the American Urban Radio Networks. With those credentials, she has always assured a spot at any gathering in the White House. Who would have the cookies to tell her not today? Space is filled?
I have seen many White House Press Briefings where Miss Ryan was called upon to ask a question or two. Why would you call on FOX for a question when you can call on The Grio? Let’s be honest. April Ryan is not a reporter but a Social Activist who asks questions to stoke division with her followers. She has 736K followers on Twitter and 27K followers on Facebook. When President Biden or Jen Psaki call on Ryan, 750,000 pairs of ears perk up for fuel for the racial divide. To say that is not to be mean, cruel, or demeaning. It is to make a valid observation.
Let’s take her question of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg during Monday’s briefing on the infrastructure bill. If she were genuinely interested in the bill and its impact on Urban America or even minority neighborhoods, she would not have chosen this question from her stash.
White House reporter April Ryan asked Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Monday how he will “deconstruct the racism that was built into the roadways.”
“Secretary Mayor Pete, can you give us the breakdown of Justice40 with the infrastructure package and that’s now passed and signed into law,” Ryan, White House correspondent for The Grio, asked the former mayor of South Bend, Ind., during the White House press briefing. (Note: the bill has yet to be signed into law)
The bipartisan infrastructure bill, which passed the Senate in August and passed the House of Representatives on Friday, has not yet been signed into law by President Joe Biden.
“Also can you give us the construct of how you will deconstruct the racism that was built into roadways,” continued Ryan.
In a $1.5T bill, the only facet that concerned April Ryan, and to highlight for her 750,000 followers, is the deconstruction of RACIST roads and bridges. Amazing is too soft a word.
Most of us are living in a world where we try to be colorblind. We take people on their merits and not on the color of their skin. We believe in equal opportunity for everyone as opposed to equity being preached by the Left. We lived to see a Black president and a Black female Vice President. We watched both male and female blacks be elected to vital state-wide positions in states across this country. But it is people like April Ryan and Al Sharpton who survive in their professions as long as the flames of racism flicker in America. Their job is to blow on those embers with their divisive words to turn the flickering embers into flames.
Call me naive, but I have always thought that having media outlets that cater to a particular race or ethnic group, in this case, Black, is itself Racist. I think that singling out groups to celebrate, such as Black History Month or Gay Pride Week, promotes division and does the opposite of their intentions. I was not raised looking through the lens of color, but people like April Ryan try to force us to look through their lens.
My suggestion to April Ryan is to stop being lazy. Dig deeper than the obvious divisive question. Ask questions on topics that will shine a light on what is being done for all neighborhoods to make them better. Stop fanning the flames of the racism that you find in the most mundane of situations. You are showing yourself to be, by your own words and deeds, a racist.

Well, April, we have been using black asphalt which is very racist as people just drive over it constantly. In our new anti-racist construct, we will be using WHITE asphalt.
