Charlotte, NC — On Thursday night, an interview with Alec Baldwin will air on ABC. Baldwin has remained largely silent since the shooting that happened on-set of his film Rust. Baldwin has been named in a lawsuit over the shooting as he was a director of the film.
In the time since the shooting, we have learned that Baldwin did not practice gun safety on multiple levels. Other actors have announced they check firearms before using them. Baldwin did not. Other actors talked about additional safety measures, but it seems that Baldwin and his team ignored those measures.
But now, the actor seems to be willing to join in the gun control narrative by pushing his latest interview with ABC. While the interview has yet to air, ABC released a promotional clip in order to try and gain attention.
In the clip, Baldwin says he did not pull the trigger of the gun that fired killing one and wounding another. He seemed to imply that the gun fired with him simply holding it. But that statement is misleading in itself.
The type of firearm that Baldwin was using, an old-style revolver firearm, are not known for misfires. They are generally the easiest firearms for a gun owner to control and have been used for decades due to their reliability and safety compared to their semi-automatic alternatives.
In fact, one of the most common issues with revolvers is that they do not fire when the trigger is pulled. It would be extremely difficult, but not impossible, for the gun to fire without pulling the trigger or manipulating the firearm in a way to compromise it. The most common cause of firing firearms like this is that someone has their finger on the trigger, never realizing it.
Which is what I expect happened to Baldwin. He was probably practicing his draw, but had his finger on the trigger unknowingly. But the problem with his statement goes further.
Baldwin continued saying he would never take a gun and pull the trigger while pointing it at someone. But you can see in this video that Baldwin has used firearms in movies in the past and near the end of the clip, you can see he pulls the trigger and it appears someone is directly behind that firearm.
You have to look beyond the misleading statements of Baldwin and look at what’s really happening here. We have a left-wing panderer in chief George Stephanopoulos conducting the interview. We have a radical left-wing actor pandering his views of gun safety.
It’s clear from the clip that is shared that George is pandering emotions and tugging on the heartstrings of Americans to feel sorry for Baldwin. He wants them to feel sorry for a man that failed to perform basic gun safety measures. A man that will help them advocate for gun control.
But I think there’s one other thing that this is probably setting up for. They talk a lot about the ammunition used in the firearm. There has been talk about the supplier, the manufacturer, and the various aspects of the ammunition.
Is this the point where the radical left starts their war on ammunition? Is this the point they declare their desire to restrict ammunition type, quantity, and more? Perhaps they want to suggest government-regulated ammunition distribution because that’s exactly how this group thinks.
Do not think for one second this is about Alec Baldwin. This is about spinning a story to fit the agenda and what the radical left is planning to push for next.
