Charlotte, NC — NASCAR has decided to go woke with its latest move. Driver Brandon Brown had secured a sponsorship from LGBcoin, a cryptocurrency that takes its name from the saying made famous at a NASCAR event “let’s go, Brandon.”
A week ago, he tweeted out a teaser of the car with the paint scheme and information about the sponsorship.
I’m excited to welcome @LGBcoin_io aboard my No. 68 Chevrolet Camaro as our 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series full season primary partner!

A source at NASCAR told CBS MoneyWatch that both the driver and the team owner were told in November that such a sponsorship would not be allowed.
According to the source, NASCAR said that a derogatory and vulgar euphemism would not be allowed on the side of the car.
On inspection of the paint scheme, nothing on the car has the term let’s go Brandon on it. It simply advertises the website LGBcoin.io and is painted in a red white and blue paint scheme.
It’s unclear what action, if any, the cryptocurrency will take against NASCAR for the move.
