Concord, NH — The justice system in this country is not only broken. It has abandoned all consideration for the public, the innocents, the victims. This trend started after the death of George Floyd when the Defund the Police movement was born. That movement became the battle cry of Black Lives Matter and the Progressive Left members of the Squad. Ilhan Omar, Congresswoman from Minnesota, who is quite familiar with bending the laws, went on a crusade calling for the dismantling of the Police system.
This insanity comes from someone who married her brother to circumvent immigration laws and has been implicated for her misuse of campaign funds. Omar’s rants defy logic, and her behavior is absent of decency.
Kamala Harris, who points to her time as Attorney General of California for her toughness on crime, turned her back on the law when she actively raised money for the bail of perps arrested during riots during the Summer of Love 2020. These two are poster children for the Democrat party that has pledged their support for the people who break the law, not the Police or the victims.
District Attorneys and Mayors from LA, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, New York, Baltimore, and others have publicly announced crimes that they will no longer prosecute. Crimes like simple assault, trespassing, drug possession, and prostitution are no longer crimes in big cities.
The new District Attorney for Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, is drawing fire and talk of recall two weeks into his term. He has claimed the public is safer if certain crimes are not enforced. Safer for whom? Obviously, the perpetrators. Is that who the justice system is charged to protect?
We have dozens of examples of cities with runaway homicide numbers, and synchronized assaults on retailers can fill the evening news. We are desensitized to the acts and the numbers because it has become commonplace in the last couple of years. It is beyond logic and common sense. We, the people, have to grasp this situation, but some fear it may be too late. The handling of the homeless and the mentally challenged are compounding this growing crime problem.
People wanted to believe that the homeless camps taking over big cities were just people that were down on their luck. We now know differently. Many, if not most, of these sidewalk campers are suffering from drug and mental challenges, and it is just a matter of time until these people turn violent. This weekend saw three senseless killings of young women randomly murdered by homeless, mentally challenged men on both coasts.
A young woman was pushed and killed when hit by a Times Square Subway Station train. A young college student was stabbed to death while working in an upscale furniture store in LA. Another young woman was shot to death in a random attack outside Baltimore. Three beautiful, successful women were snuffed of life by three mentally challenged men who had no right to be walking the streets.
Where is the outrage? Where is justice? Who is looking out for these people before they become victims?
In this turned upside-down world, the system seems to favor the criminal. Money has been allocated to care for the mentally challenged, but people fear labeling people as such. People in power see fit to have these people free to wreak havoc. As they fortify their homes with walls and security, they afford most of us no protection. This thinking cannot survive.
The polls show a tremendous move of people leaning Republican, with the most significant reason being safety. We may be the land of the free, but we want to be the safe land first.
