WASHINGTON — The US State Department has ordered family members of personnel stationed at the US embassy in Ukraine to leave the country. The move comes as Russia continues its aggressive action towards Ukraine.
Russia has denied any intentions to invade Ukraine, but an invasion is expected in the coming days. Russian warships have already moved closer to Ukraine and Russian troops have built up along the border.
News outlets across the UK were reporting that Russia was attempting to replace the Ukrainian government with pro-Russian leaders. Russia denied the accusations, but there seems little to refute the report with based on the continued actions by Russia with their troops.
There is also a travel advisory that has been issued against travel to Ukraine amid the tensions.
Biden’s stance on Russia has been weak overall. He has said that minor incursions would not be addressed, which the administration quickly corrected.
Biden has approved key gasoline projects for Putin and has allowed all the military buildup with only a threat of action economically from the United States.
The US has delivered supplies to Ukraine along with NATO allies to help Ukraine defend itself, but so far no one has been willing to support Ukraine with troops.
While the distractions have mostly involved Ukraine and Russia, China is not to be left out of the conversations as well.
China recently flew multiple warplanes near Taiwan. China has long said it will bring Taiwan into alignment with mainland China and an invasion is expected in the future.
