Ottawa, Canada — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced he is going to be in isolation as the Freedom Convoy nears Ottawa.
Trudeau took to Twitter to make the announcement yesterday. He tweeted that he “learned that I have been exposed to COVID-19. My rapid test result was negative.”
The tweet continued that Trudeau was following Ottawa’s rules and isolating for five days. I feel fine and will be working from home. Stay safe, everyone – and please get vaccinated.”
Very convenient considering the convoy will be at Trudeau’s doorsteps by Saturday afternoon.
As reported yesterday, the convoy has a simple request for freedom. Freedom from vax mandates and passports, contact tracing, attacks on Canadians for their beliefs and from censorship.
Despite reports of the convoy being as much as 50,000 trucks long, which easily smashes the world record of 480 trucks, Trudeau called it a “fringe minority” who hold “unacceptable views.” That’s right, now wanting to be forced to inject substances into your body that you don’t want and don’t need is unacceptable to Trudeau.
In other news from the convoy, GoFundMe has released the first portion of funds raised for the group on that site despite reports from media outlets, like Yahoo News, claiming the funds were frozen.
Rachel Hollis, a GoFundMe spokeswoman, said: “We require that fundraisers be transparent about the flow of funds and have a clear plan for how those funds will be spent. Funds will be safely held until the organizer is able to provide the documentation to our team about how funds will be properly distributed.”
Tamara Lich, a convoy organizer, provided an update yesterday on GoFundMe. The group has raised over $6.8 million now, up from $6 million yesterday, and the funds are meant to help the truckers pay for fuel, food and hotels. Lich wrote that the “first batch of funds” has been transferred.“
Sadly, the legacy media felt it was necessary to publish news articles implying that GoFundMe had frozen our funds for a variety of outrageous reasons,” Lich wrote. “In reality, the temporary hold was due to international banking regulations which dictate many of GoFundMe policies. It is common practice with GoFundMe to conduct this kind of due diligence to ensure the funds are legitimate.”
Lich added: “For our case, because of the overwhelming donations we have received, and we are currently the 8th fastest growing campaign in their history, the constant attempts by activists to flag our campaign as illegitimate exacerbated the already tedious process. The team at GoFundMe have been amazing to work with and we are very appreciative of their support.”
GoFundMe has in the past suspended fundraisers, including from a grieving father who wanted to get his son’s story out after he died after being jabbed.
Hopefully GoFundMe is turning a new leaf.
