Charlotte, NC — Inspired by our neighbors to the north, a trucker convoy is being planned in America.
An organizer, Brian Von D., of the convoy posted a video stating it will start in California and end at Washington, D.C., and “we’re going to stay there just like Canada is doing.”
“We’re done with the mandates,” Von D. said. “We’re done with the government telling us what to do.”
A Facebook page titled Convoy to DC 2022 was started. As of this writing, that page was down with no explanation from Facebook as to why the page is not up.
Members of another Facebook page, titled Freedom Convoy America, confirmed that they were unable to access the other convoy page which led to justifiable speculation that the page was intentionally targeted. One member wrote:
“Of course they took the other group down. They don’t want us to get together and rise up and so they’ll silence and shut down these groups but that won’t stop the convoy/protest to happen. It’s time for the world to rise up.”
The Liberty Loft reviewed the Convoy to DC 2022 page prior to it going down. There were few details of the convoy at the time as it has just started to organize.
However, The Daily Wire reported that page had seen exponential growth in just a few days with over 90,000 members as of Monday. According to The Daily Wire, the page stated:
“We are part of many large groups who believe in our founding fathers. We believe everyone has a voice. We support our freedom. Help us spread the word about this group and together we all can make it a better place. God Bless America.”
Meanwhile, the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa, Canada continues to go strong as its GoFundMe page continues to see fundraising support grow while farmers have joined the truckers in Ottawa.
The protest has been admitted to be peaceful by Ottawa officials, but they are still looking to shut it down.
Ottawa’s Chief of Police Peter Sloly admitted there has been no violence but said “all options are on the table” for ending the legal activity, according to Breitbart.
“It could have led to significant and severe injuries, and it could have led to the loss of life,” Sloly said. “None of that has occurred over the last four days.”
The mainstream media has largely ignored the Freedom Convoy, and what coverage there is has been mostly a smear campaign. Rebel News, one of the few independent media outlets in Canada, has provided Convoy Reports for those seeking accurate news from the convoy.
