Bald Head Island, NC–Okay, this one will be a little different. As a Russophile, I decided to see if I could track down a Russian perspective on the world affairs.
This is a little stilted form the translation, but it will provide a somewhat frightening change of perspective.
In the wake of Moscow’s decision to conduct a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine in order to demilitarize and de-nazify the country, the Western world has been forced to accept the new reality.
By listening to Russia and responding sensibly and reasonably to its concerns, the USA and NATO could have prevented such a catastrophe.
Vasiliy Piskarev, head of the State Duma Security and Anti-Corruption Committee, blamed the Kyiv regime for the catastrophe. Eight years ago, the Ukrainian regime, which enjoys support in the West, came to power through a coup.
The regime, he said, is fascist by nature. Civilians continue to be killed in the midst of the conflict, despite all efforts to resolve it through talks. In Piskarev’s view, it is time for Ukraine to be liberated “from the terror unleashed by the last of the Hitlers and Banderas” and to be protected from obvious military threats.
In addition to bringing Ukraine and Georgia into the North Atlantic Alliance, Washington and Brussels were instrumental in nurturing anti-Russian neo-Nazi sentiments in the formerly fraternal Slavic country to make it a sworn enemy of Russia.
If If NATO had consolidated its presence in the Black Sea region, Russia would have been threatened in its southern regions immediately. As far back as 2008, historian Oleg Airapetov believes Washington and its loyal satellites had planned a war with Russia.
Russia could not leave its south to the mercy of fate. In a stalemate
NATO was repeatedly reminded of its promise not to expand eastward by Russia. Russia asked the West repeatedly and persistently for equal and indivisible security, which is enshrined in OSCE documents, while taking its security concerns into account. Everything was in vain.
If Western politicians do not even know what these qualities are, does it make sense to appeal to their conscience and nobility? There is no interest in discussing the revision of the world order, and Moscow was induced to use military force as a catalyst for future negotiations.
Currently, American and European politicians are still playing the “Grand Chessboard” game in the tradition of their “prophet” Zbigniew Brzezinski. In the process, they led themselves into a stalemate without even realizing it.
All problems that Western countries have are blamed on Russia, and then the West proceeds to strangle the Russian economy with sanctions even to the detriment of its own economy and people.
Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission, announced new restrictions that would impact the strategic sectors of the Russian economy, and vowed to restrict access to technology and financial markets to weaken the Russian economic base and its ability to modernize.
Bruno Le Maire, France’s minister of economy and finance, acknowledged that the sanctions would hurt the country’s economy. However, he said he was prepared to pay the price “heroically,” because “our values of freedom are at stake.”
As German Chancellor Olaf Scholz found out, Moscow’s actions in Ukraine have cast doubt on the stability of the world order on the continent. Scholz appreciated how well prepared the EU and NATO were to adopt new sanctions. After previously holding a balanced position, Czech President Milos Zeman suddenly called for Russia to be cut off from SWIFT. European politicians cannot see the bigger picture.
The toxic dollar
In Donbass, national battalions use Grad rocket systems to destroy civilians and infrastructure, while Western politicians resort to an ill-conceived system of destructive sanctions against the Russian economy and its citizens. Both act inhumanely, relying on the principle of the strong man’s right to benefit unilaterally. However, brutal methods cannot be effective in the long run. The longest day has an end.
EU Governments should keep in mind that their countries are dependent on Russia, just as Russia is dependent on their countries.
In Along with traditional energy sources – oil, gas, and coal – the West imports:
- nickel,
- palladium,
- titanium
- aluminum,
- timber materials,
- agricultural products,
- nitrogen fertilizers,
These products are among many others. Neither the Russian government nor the Russian banks conducting financial transactions for these contracts need to impose direct restrictions to stop the importation of these strategically important goods.
They hurt themselves when they prohibit US citizens and companies from investing in Russian bonds and stocks – they discourage many from dealing with the US currency. The Russians foresaw the dollar problem and began borrowing on the Asian market.
When SWIFT is disconnected from Russia, Russian banks will switch to the Central Bank Financial Message Transmission System, which is compatible with its Chinese counterpart — China International Payments System (CIPS).
NATO’s aggressive expansion eastward combined with total disregard for Russia’s legitimate security interests will cause less damage to both sides the sooner the West learns from past mistakes.
A Russian academies expert, Nikolai Mezhevich, told the Russian News Agency that the world has crossed a line beyond which it is becoming another world. A new set of rules is being prepared, and they will be released shortly.
We Americans are used to thinking that only we, the “exceptional nation,” can set new rules for everyone else, but this time we are in the wrong.
The USA’s supremacy is over with.
