Hearing reports of prisoners of war being shot in the knees or tortured in other ways in Ukraine has particularly disturbed me.
While mistreatment of prisoners of war is deserving of attention, there are many more crimes against humanity that go unnoticed on a daily basis.
One minority group is oppressed, persecuted, and physically attacked significantly more than any other in the world. The mainstream media, on the other hand, never mentions it since the minority group I’m speaking about is Christians.
There are roughly 7.8 billion people on the planet.
And we’ve seen an alarming rise in Christian persecution around the world in recent years. For example, here is a story that you will never hear about in the Western mainstream media…
Radical Muslims in eastern Uganda sprayed acid on their family members during an argument over their conversion from Islam to Christianity and were told, “You deserve death.”
The family survived but remain in the hospital where they’re being treated for burns.
According to Morning Star News, Muslim relatives in Intonko village, Namutumba District, splashed acid on three recent converts — Juma Waiswa, 38, his 32-year-old wife, Nasimu Naigaga, and their 13-year-old daughter, Amina Nagudi — to punish them for putting their faith in Christ.
This type of behavior, unfortunately, has become far too common. Many religious zealots in the Middle East have turned to acid as a weapon of choice, and individuals who have chosen to convert to Christianity are frequently targeted.
The three recent converts were severely beaten by members of their own family in this case…
“During the meeting, we were asked about our salvation, and we affirmed to them that we had believed in Jesus and converted to Christianity,” Waiswa was quoted as saying. “They told us to renounce Jesus, but we stood by the newly founded faith in Jesus.”
He continued: “When we refused to recant our faith in Jesus, my father, Arajabu, recited some Quranic verses, and after that they forcefully started beating us with sticks as prescribed in the Quran, claiming that we were apostates. As this was not enough, my father went inside the room and picked up a bottle of acid and began spraying it on us while the group started shouting, ‘Allah Akbar [Allah is greater], you deserve death,’ and then disowned us.”
Christian persecution has risen to extremely alarming levels in Asia as well.
For instance, in India, a Christian pastor was recently chained to a post at a busy intersection and beaten cruelly in front of a large audience…
Hindu radicals chained a pastor to a post at a busy intersection in Delhi last month and beat him in front of hundreds of people, but police have yet to make any charges, according to sources.
Hindu fanatics abducted Pastor Kelom Kalyan Tete on Feb. 25, accusing him of forcible conversion while beating him. They shackled his hands and tied him to an iron rod that splits a road in two at Fatehpur Beri Chowk crossroad in South Delhi, Pastor Tete alleged.
Despite the high number of eyewitnesses, there have been no arrests so far.
This is due to the fact that such behavior is widely tolerated in that part of the world.
In China, things are considerably worse.
The Western mainstream media loves to make a big fuss about how the Chinese are persecuting the Uyghurs, and while this is true, the persecution of Christians in China is far more widespread.
House churches are routinely searched around the country, and those recognized as leaders are frequently transferred to secret “transformation centers,” which you will never hear about on CNN or MSNBC…
Authorities in China are detaining Christians in secretive, mobile “transformation” facilities to make them renounce their faith, RFA has learned.
A member of a Christian “house church” in the southwestern province of Sichuan who asked to be identified by a pseudonym Li Yuese said he was held in a facility run by the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s United Front Work Department, working in tandem with the state security police, for 10 months after a raid on his church in 2018.
“It was a mobile facility, that could just set up in some basement somewhere,” Li said. “It was staffed by people from several different government departments.”
Why isn’t this ever mentioned when we speak about how bad the communist Chinese regime is?
The reason it is never mentioned is that the vast majority of the American populace is unaware of what is going on, and the mainstream media never reports on it.
The liberal media in the Western world is wary of stories that portray Bible-believing Christians in a favorable light.
Instead, a constant attempt is being made to discredit and isolate individuals who hold to a faith based standard. The adoption of a biblical worldview will surely result in full-fledged government persecution.
Things that would have been inconceivable only a few years ago are already happening in certain Western countries. In Finland, for example, a Christian member of parliament and a well-known bishop were detained and charged with hate speech for expressing their faith-based views on sexuality…
The allegations against a Christian MP and bishop who openly discussed their Bible-based ideas on marriage and sexuality have been dismissed by a Finnish court.
Päivi Räsänen, a former Minister of the Interior, and Bishop Juhana Pohjola were charged with hate speech last month and were found guilty.
The good news is that the judge sided with them.
However, they should never have been detained in the first place.
If you can believe it, the prosecution tried to make the case that using the word “sin” constitutes a hate crime…
During the trial, the prosecution contended that using the word “sin” might be “derogatory” and “harmful,” and that it was contesting “the expression of these opinions” rather than religious views.
“The Bible isn’t on trial here, but Räsänen’s words are … The apostle Paul isn’t on trial here, but Räsänen is,” the prosecution said.
We should be thankful for a victory in this case, but the forces of political correctness in the western world are relentless and they will never stop trying to push the envelope.
I have never seen more hostility for Christians in the United States than I am seeing right now. I wish I could tell you that this is simply a blip on the radar, but I am convinced that what we’ve seen thus far is only the tip of the iceberg.
The United States is one of the remaining reasonably free nations on the planet, and we are supposed to be able to freely practice our faith under the US Constitution.
Unfortunately, times have changed significantly, and those who detest us will never stop.
