Mayor Adams of New York City has been inhaling too many subway fumes. What other excuse could there be for the billboard campaign he unveiled this week. The campaign is not for signs in New York but in Florida. Really, not a parody.
These digital billboards that will appear in five major cities in the Sunshine State are in poor taste and ill-conceived. The Mayor, surrounded by a bevy of young men, who we can assume are gay, announced his “say whatever they want” program in the Big Apple in contrast to what he called the “Don’t Say Gay” law signed by Governor DeSantis.
The Mayor proved that neither he nor anyone on his staff read the bill he was attacking. If they did, they do not understand the written word.
The city of New York lost over 300,000 residents and their billions of tax dollars to states like Tennessee, Texas, and, of course, Florida. Because of the climate created by Adams and his predecessor, Bill DiBlasio, the exodus from New York is costing them a seat in Congress, which Florida will pick up.
Adams trying to coax people to return from Florida to New York is tantamount to Satan urging someone into Hell. Florida is safer, has a favorable climate, lower cost of living, and no income tax. It also has a leadership team that believes in personal liberty. What can New York offer to counter the attraction to Florida?
Mayor DiBlasio will be remembered as one of the worst Mayors ever for The Big Apple, and there were high hopes for Adams. He has not performed up to those hopes and expectations yet. There is no indication of improvement in the future.
The Mayors are not solely to blame for the conditions in Metropolitan New York. Governors Cuomo and Hochul have not handled the state well through the Pandemic with excessive restrictions and poor leadership and vision. Costs and taxes are as high as the crime rate.
These liberal politicians fill their talking points with concern for children while their actions tell the real story. They do not care about their well-being, and their primary concern is indoctrination. Mayor Adams is so concerned that he is still mandating masks for young preschool students.
This mandate is not only cruel, but results show that masks are infringing on their ability to learn and even speak. Young children need to see mouths move to understand speech and phonics. They are denied this critical building block in their development because an egomaniacal mayor wants excessive control.
They have such concern for children 5-9 years old that they are protesting a newly signed Florida law that prevents these young students from being exposed to sexual topics that they can not even comprehend.
These politicians are more concerned about turning a child protection policy into an anti-gay crusade. This may work with their liberal base, who get their news from filtered sources. But to the other half of the country, these pols look like bumbling, ignorant, power-seeking charlatans.
New York, California, Michigan, and other strongholds of the left will continue to lose people. But more importantly, they will lose their tax money, too. That tax revenue is the lifeblood of the left, and when gone, so too will be these politicians who tore it all down.
