Joe Biden – what a jokester.
He sure knows how to tell them, huh?
What a wit.
No wonder his sister and wife (or is it the other way around?) think he needs to get out and about to start talking to real people – like Jimmy Kimmel. They were just saying, you know, “let Biden be Biden.”
So he got his wish.
And he told the funniest one-liners. I actually heard real laughter he evoked from some real people.
One of the things he spoofed with Kimmel and the host’s astute audience was about putting his political enemies in jail. Is that a laugh riot, or what?
It went something like this: After talking about familiar topics like gun control and the economy, while blasting former President Donald Trump and Republicans, Biden segued here – like a pro:
“I often get asked, ‘Look the Republicans don’t play it square, why do you play it square?’ Well, guess what! If we do the same thing they do, our democracy will literally be in jeopardy,” Biden said. “Not a joke.”
That is one Biden’s best lines – “not a joke.” Whether it’s a joke or not.
Kimmel equated Washington politics and Republicans to that of playing the game Monopoly with people who do not follow the rules. “How do you ever make progress if they’re not following the rules?” Kimmel asked.
And then Joe hit right between the eyes.
“Well, you have to send them to jail,” he said – only apparently referencing the board game.
“Directly to jail?” Kimmel asked, to which Biden replied, mumbling something inaudible before the show took a break.
The funniest part of the line was that it came only 12 hours before the FBI raided the home of the leading GOP Michigan governor candidate, Ryan Kelly, and arrested him for attending the Jan. 6 “insurrection” in Washington.
And this was less than a week after Biden’s Department of Justice strip-searched former Trump adviser Peter Navarro, a 70-year-old, for made-up crimes over Jan. 6. He was not even involved but was taken directly from a flight at Reagan National to the Washington dungeon – no food or water, no phone call to his attorney.
You need to see Biden’s “send ’em to jail” bit yourself before it becomes a comedy classic:
Former President Trump issued executive orders “like Halloween candy,” Kimmel said during the interview.
Biden replied by taking a jab at Trump. “What I don’t want to do, and I’m not being facetious, I don’t want to emulate Trump’s abuse of the Constitution and constitutional authority.”
Another line that had the studio audience guffawing.
But Joe was not done yet.
“This is not your father’s Republican Party. This is a MAGA party,” Biden said, accusing the GOP of subjecting itself to “intimidation by the NRA.” He added that voters needed to ensure gun control “becomes a voting issue.”
The press can’t get away with anything under Joe, either.
“Look at how the press has changed,” Biden said. “With notable exceptions, even the really good reporters, they have to get a number of clicks on the nightly news. So instead of asking a question … it’s just, everything gets sensationalized.”
Then in the same week a would-be assassin staked out Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s house, Joe and Kimmel discussed the pending decision on abortion. Biden mused that a pro-life decision would motivate a massive voter turnout.
“I don’t think the country will stand for it,” Biden said of the prospect of ending federal protections for abortion. “If in fact the decision comes down the way it does and these states impose the limitations they’re talking about, it’s going to cause a mini revolution, and they’re going to vote these folks out of office. … You gotta vote to let people know exactly what the devil you think,” Biden said bluntly.
Yeah, what the devil you think.
You know, come to think of it, Biden is possibly mentally ill.
Think about it. We had a communist living in the White House and we never knew if he was eligible for the office.
Now we have a mentally ill president living in the White House who hasn’t found anyone who is ineligible.
