If you thought traitor and back-stabbing swamp creature Mike Pence would slither away quietly after he suffers a humiliating loss in his laughable bid for the White House, you were wrong. People like Pence don’t just give up power that easily, and while Mike wishes he could be sitting in the Oval Office, he and his staff are finally coming to the realization that the “White House” will never happen for Mike since most of the Republican base can’t stand him.
But Pence isn’t going to ride off into the sunset that easily. He has another plan, and in reality, this move might actually give him even more power than the Oval Office would… eventually.
Politico did a piece on Pence’s big political priapisms. The majority of the base can’t stand him, and the establishment wing is mad at him because they see him as President Trump’s “lackey.”
But don’t be fooled, while most realize that Pence is a massive longshot for the White House, they’ve got a backup plan, that according to this piece, is really serious:
“He’s got a huge problem,” Newt Gingrich, who sits on Pence’s Advancing American Freedom advisory board, told me. “I think Pence is very, very comfortable making a positive case for himself. He’d be very uncomfortable running a negative campaign because it’s just not really who he is.”
the sense in his inner circle is that he has next to no chance in a party still dominated by Trump. Some of those close allies simply hope he doesn’t run, that he spares himself the inevitable disappointment. At least one top adviser and close friend in recent days urged him to consider a run for Senate in Indiana as incumbent Mike Braun eyes the governor’s office — a respectable offramp from his loftier ambitions. “It’s worthy of consideration,” the Pence confidant told me. “I could see him being majority leader within a short period of time.” (Two Pence aides denied that he had any interest in a Senate bid; but the chatter had grown so loud in the Indiana delegation that Rep. Jim Banks, who is eyeing his own Senate run, felt compelled to check with the former vice president about his intentions, according to someone close to Pence. A Banks spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.) IfPence does run for president, they say his best shot depends on DeSantis faltering, and Pence, by virtue of his experience and his patience, outlasting him in some kind of tortoise and hare scenario. (When it comes to Trump, they believe he and DeSantis could become preoccupied with one another, allowing Pence to run up the middle.)
Yep. I could see the establishment loving Mike Pence as the replacement for Mitch. It’d be like having John Roberts lead the Senate. What a nightmare.
However, the DeSantis thing isn’t going to pan out for Mike. It would be political suicide for DeSantis to run against Trump. I think the GOP establishment and the left are working together to make it so President Trump “can’t” run, and then DeSantis will come in like a “savior.”
That’s the plan if you ask me…
They think if they can do that, they will kill the MAGA movement, once and for all.
