As far as policies and politicians go, I like what DeSantis is doing in Florida. Some of it feels a bit forced and “showboaty,” and staged, but that’s likely because he’s flip-flopped on some issues after seeing which way the polls are going. But that’s what US politicians do. They hold their finger up in the air and see which way the winds blowing and they go in that direction. There’s nothing wrong with going with the “popular” thinking and supporting your base, more politicians should actually do that. But that type of behavior isn’t always the most genuine and probably won’t create a strong and powerful “movement” – especially when you’re being propped up and supported by the establishment and NeverTrumpers.
So, that’s a big problem for DeSantis in terms of a politcal run against President Trump. Personally, I think it’d be politcal suicide for him to do that, and it’s also a massive slap in the face to a majority of the base. We don’t need or want that division, and he’s young and has plenty of time to go for his dream, but right now, he shouldn’t let his ego get the best of him.
After all, he wouldn’t be the governor of Florida if it weren’t for Trump. He was about to lose that race to a bi-sexual crackhead.
But the rumors keep swirling behind the scenes, that DeSantis is being wooed by NeverTrump big donors, and people like Paul Ryan who want him to run against Trump, divide the base, destroy MAGA and start to get things going back to normal.
Because if you think DeSantis would rule the US the same way he does Florida, I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.
You can’t be that naive and gullible, can you? Maybe some are.
But the swamp doesn’t work that way…
And President Trump isn’t having any of this.
The Hill reported that President Trump sounded a note of confidence regarding the possibility Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) might enter the 2024 presidential race, saying, “We’ll handle that the way I handle things.”
During an interview with David Brody on “The Water Cooler” on Monday, Trump was asked if it would be a “bad move” for DeSantis to jump into the presidential race. The Florida governor has not officially announced a White House bid, as Trump has, but it’s been widely speculated he is considering joining the GOP primary.
“So you know, now I hear he might want to run against me. So we’ll handle that the way I handle things,” Trump said in part after boasting about his endorsement of DeSantis’s first successful gubernatorial campaign.
DeSantis’s profile has risen further after he was reelected by 19 points in November, a resounding victory for the Florida Republican that members of the party saw as a silver lining in an otherwise difficult midterm night for Republicans.
As you can see, this Hill article, is doing what most “mainstream” articles are doing – pushing DeSantis.
New polling out shows Trump has a commanding lead over DeSantis, should he decide to run.
