Hamas Plots Attacks on U.S.-Israeli Aid Sites. Plus, the ‘Great Un-Awokening’ Unravels.

“Hamas should think twice”: Late Sunday, a group of Hamas affiliates issued a call to action on Telegram, a social networking site they often use to coordinate their activities: “Resistance security is authorized to firmly confront anyone who cooperates with the enemy or its agents, and agents and mercenaries will be legitimate targets.”

They were talking about the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), the joint U.S.-Israeli aid effort formed with the help of private contractors to replace the Hamas-tied UNRWA. The terror groups lamented the “American aid distribution centers” for operating with the goal of ending “UNRWA’s mission.” They also warned Gazans that “any cooperation with bodies other than UNRWA is considered a contribution to the enemy’s plans.”

A senior U.S. official confirmed to our Adam Kredo that the Trump administration is monitoring the situation. “These reports of Hamas threatening the GHF and its workers, many of whom are Americans, are deeply concerning,” the official said. “Hamas should think twice. We are watching closely.”

Zero days since last nonsense: Politico reported Saturday that the Democratic Party was in the midst of a “Great Un-Awokening” as ambitious elected officials spearheaded a “slow-motion Sista Souljah moment” meant to “ratchet back a leftward lurch on social issues.” California governor Gavin Newsom was cited as an example for having “muted his tone on immigration issues.” So much for that, writes the Free Beacon’s Andrew Stiles.

Within hours of Politico’s declaration, anti-ICE agitators in Los Angeles began burning cars and throwing rocks at cops. Newsom responded by condemning… the Trump administration, which he said “flamed the fires.” A group of Democratic governors, including presidential contenders J.B. Pritzker, Wes Moore, and Gretchen Whitmer, piled on in a joint statement that called Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard “an alarming abuse of power.” And when Democratic officials did condemn the rioters, they did so not for attacking cops, but rather for giving Trump “what he wants.”

Recent polls, meanwhile, “show that Trump’s approach to immigration is the most popular part of his agenda,” writes Stiles. “So much for the Democratic Party’s short-lived efforts to rebrand as a no-nonsense party capable of understanding the concerns of normal Americans.”

Mostly peaceful terrorist tunnel: On Sunday, the New York Times confirmed what most of us knew but the paper had previously cast doubt on: that Hamas operated a tunnel beneath the European Gaza Hospital. The Times, however, did not use the revelation to condemn Hamas for using a hospital as a terror hideout. Instead, it called the tunnel “one of the war’s biggest Rorschach tests.”

“To Israelis, the location of an underground passageway highlights Hamas’s abuse of civilians,” the article’s subheading reads. “To Palestinians, Israel’s decision to target it highlights Israel’s own disregard for civilian life.”

IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin had a different take: “We were dragged by Hamas to this point,” he told the Times. “If they weren’t building their infrastructure under the hospitals, we wouldn’t be here.”

In other news:

  • The mullahs in Iran formally rejected the U.S. nuclear deal proposal on Monday, prompting this response from Donald Trump: “They’re just asking for things that you can’t do … They seek enrichment, we can’t have enrichment, we want just the opposite. So far, they’re not there.”
  • Ilhan Omar’s daughter posted the following message to Instagram: “From LA to Rafah, there is one common oppressor. Death to the colonial empire. Life for our children.” She sounds fun at parties.
  • Cutting the cord: CNN’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, is splitting into two companies, cutting CNN off from its more profitable streaming business as the left-leaning network deals with poor ratings.
  • Invasion alert: Federal agents “have arrested a second University of Michigan scholar from China for smuggling biological material into the United States,” the Detroit News reported.
