Los Angeles, C.A. – The LAPD is having its law enforcement budget torn apart. On Wednesday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced he is throwing out plans for a massive police budget hike as support for slashing police department funds grows among activists in the wake of George Floyd’s death.Â
As criminals continue to destroy American businesses under peaceful protest, some liberal communities are cutting monies allocated for law enforcement to calm protestors who are calling for “defunding police.”Â
Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore responded to the city’s proposed $100 million-$150 million cuts for the 2020-21 police budget. In the same news release, the LAPD said, “The size of this budget reduction is significant, requiring a top-to-bottom assessment including how we go about our most basic operations.”
Earlier this week, the city of Los Angeles has declared a state of emergency and called in National Guard troops following the fifth day of violent protests in the city, which saw demonstrators repeatedly clash with officers, torch police vehicles and loot businesses.
Police Officer’s Salaries Set to be Most Impacted
Los Angeles Police Department was set to receive a significant increase in its annual budget from $1.189 billion last year to $1.86 billion (most of the budget increases were for new police bonuses) for 2020-2021 before Garcetti axed that move on June 3.Â
The LAPD and other law enforcement agencies follow the lead of Democratic “leaders” across the nation in an attempt to “financially apologize” for rouge cops who have racially profiled and taken the lives of innocent African-Americans.Â
The liberal-led and condoned insurrections have illustrated that local law enforcement is ill-equipped to handle mass destruction. Democratic-led cities and states lack the financial direction and courage to provide safety to their citizens’ innocent lives.Â
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is easy to cut funding to his police department. Still, he is quick to call on state and federal law enforcement’s assistance to police communities that he fails to secure. Liberal “leaders” across the nation want to speak of action, but when it comes to putting effort into motion, they fold, financially and faithfully.Â
