WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Joe Biden, a long-renowned fountain of gaffes in Washington, is at it again.
During a Monday speech welcoming the Seattle Storm, 2020s WNBA champions, to the White House, Biden used the event to stress the importance of setting examples for young women to demonstrate their capability of doing anything their male counterparts can.
Biden started:
“I can say as much as I want, from the time my two daughters were born, that you can do anything a man can do. It’s one thing for somebody to say that … but guess what — until they see it, until they watch. It becomes real then.”
Things started going downhill as Biden began going off on a tangent about Vice President Kamala Harris:
What?
BIDEN: "She [Kamala] happens to be in Asia for me right now, but that's why we have a female Vice President of the United States of America, who's gonna be, we're gonna have some presidents pretty soon."

In March, Biden erred similarly by referring to the vice president as “President Harris”.
Since selecting her as a running mate, Biden has been characterized by some on the right as a vegetative conduit for an incoming Harris administration — so a certain degree of confirmation bias may exist here. However, given Biden’s history as a gaffe machine, this shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
