Orlando, FL – On Saturday, SpaceX becomes the first private company to send people into orbit after the successful launch of the Falcon9 rocket and the NASA crew. Just after 3 PM EST, the rocket blasted off from Kennedy Space Center en route to the International Space Station.
All of the systems and launch sequences seemed to work perfectly. SpaceX tweeted the separation of the crew capsule from the second stage booster and said that the crew was in a proper orbit.
Crew Dragon has separated from Falcon 9’s second stage and is on its way to the International Space Station with @Astro_Behnken and @AstroDoug! Autonomous docking at the @Space_Station will occur at ~10:30 a.m. EDT tomorrow, May 31 pic.twitter.com/bSZ6yZP2bD

NASA also shared the good news of the successful launch and announced that the crew might update through video later today. NASA is expected to hold a press conference around 6:30 PM.
Saturday’s launch was rescheduled from earlier in the week when the weather prevented the launch. It is the first time that America has put its own astronauts into orbit since 2011.
