Dr. Erickson COVID-19 Briefing, Pt. 2
Dr. Dan Erickson of Accelerated Health Care talks about the impact of the coronavirus on Kern County.
In their statements, the doctors are not really concerned about going against the recommendations from Dr Fauci and the NIH. They state that they are the ones treating the patients and they see no reason for the stay home orders.
The doctors also shared that their friends in the Emergency rooms around the area are being pressured to list COVID-19 as a cause of death. Many have suspected this is due to increased payouts for COVID-19 deaths.
The USA Today ran a fact check article on this. They determined there is a premium payment for COVID-19 deaths that is being paid by the CARES Act. This is a 20% premium according to The USA Today.
The issues they raise do resonate with a lot of Americans. Many are arguing and protesting against the stay home orders. They have argued that the data does not support the orders.
Others simply want to get back to work. At this point, 26 million Americans have been forced out of work by the coronavirus. Yet, the stay orders continue with many being extended.
Many states have announced plans to reopen in coming weeks. Some stay orders have been extended. But others, like Georgia, have been quick to move to reopen their states.
In the coming weeks, we will learn a lot about the reopening of the country. More data points like these shared will continue to surface. Everyone will be watching data from states as they open in relation to new cases.
There is also a significant amount of coronavirus antibody testing data that is expected. Some data has already appeared from California and New York. Stay tuned to The Liberty Loft for updates on this developing story.
