As of Tuesday morning, Democrats have yet to release results from the Iowa caucus. In calls with campaigns and reporters, the Iowa Democratic Party (IDP) did not answer questions. They simply continued to dodge and leave people confused as to what has happened. Campaigns are claiming victory while there is absolutely no clear winners.
The IDP had pitched its new process as revolutionary. It was to be able to allow more results and help the party move into the digital age with caucus results. Instead, the party is left in an absolute mess scrambling to provide details. There are no details available as to when results will be released. The party is left waiting.
There are two obvious takeaways from this situation. The first is that the Democrats struggled to manage a caucus process, but insist that they are the best to run America. This is the party that believes they are best to fix the healthcare problem and equality issues across our country. But they cannot run this process, let alone a big one like a healthcare system. This debacle has left no doubt the Democrats are fit to handle any issues in our country.
American’s will not deal with a party that simply hangs up on those attempting to get answers. This is exactly what was done in Iowa as precinct chairs attempted to get answers. American’s deserve better than this. This is an absolute failure of a party to do their job. It’s time for Democrats to focus on walking away from this party that is more concerned about their elite than the American citizen.
The second takeaway is more of a hypothetical question. Is this the party’s way to silence and kill any momentum that Bernie Sanders has? I talked about this before in that Bernie Sanders had the momentum leading into Iowa. Typically, Iowa gives momentum going into New Hampshire. If Sanders clearly had the momentum, will this kill that momentum?
It’s no secret that Bernie Sanders is blamed for the Democrats loss in 2016. They simply cannot see how anyone would vote for President Trump over Hillary Clinton, but they did. Hard-nosed Democrats do not want to see the socialist movement in the party. They understand that this will result in a loss.
What better way to prevent the loss than to kill any momentum by Sanders! While I’m not saying this is the case, it certainly does look puzzling does it not? You would think that the party leaders would have planned for these situations to prevent any concern or confusion. But here we are, hours later with no clear winner or answers.
The Democrats certainly had the eyes of the nation watching. Republicans and Democrats alike were interested in these results. Democrats wanted to see where the momentum truly was. Republicans wanted to see who was positioned as the front runner against Trump. Yet again, Democrats have failed America and proven themselves incapable of leading.
