Charlotte, NC — Across the country, battles for and against the use of facemasks have been taking place. The dividing lines have split families, friends, and political parties. Recently, one state sued a city government over a mandatory face mask requirement.
Many states have strongly suggested using face masks, while others have made it mandatory. The CDC recommends that all Americans wear face masks to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Now it appears that wearing a face mask is simply not enough.
In a recent article, those against face mask use are being criticized for the types of masks that they are choosing to wear. In the CDC’s guidance, it simply says that a cloth face mask is all that is required. Now, there is a push to regulate the types of face masks that you can wear.
The article describes that some face masks simply do not provide protection. I’ve made this same argument for months. The face masks do not protect you like everyone on the left would like you to believe. The article is pushing for people to wear a specific type of face mask.
The WHO and CDC continue to share conflicting information regarding face masks. The CDC says wear a mask, specifically any type of fabric mask, anytime you leave your home. The WHO says that those types of fabric masks cannot protect you, but that a medical grade mask could protect you.
Many of the studies used to try and justify the use of face masks do not specifically look at cloth face masks. This study, for example, looked at medical grade surgical masks. This study also says that those masks do not protect fully against aerosolized infection.
Another study cited on the CDC website in support of using cloth face masks also tells some interesting information. In the report, the research shows that collection greater than 6 feet from people infected with COVID-19 contained contaminants of the virus. This would mean that the social distancing of 6 feet is negated.
The same study also says one other piece of information that is interesting. The report says, “for no respiratory virus is the exact proportion of infections due to air droplet, aerosol, or fomite transmission fully established, and many individual factors and situations may contribute to the importance of each route of transmission.” In other words, no matter the respiratory illness, no one knows the extent of the transmission through airborne or aerosol methods.
The media understands that the majority of Americans will not look into the details of the study. If they did, they would realize that the support for social distancing and face masks is non-existent. Besides, the left will stop at nothing to regulate everything in life.
This is the same method we continue to see from the left time and again. Give in a little to them, such as allowing them to get away with mandatory face mask orders, and they will immediately move further to the left. They have won the face mask argument in public, now it will be the type of mask.
What’s next? The type of soap and hand sanitizer that we use? Continued government regulation of everything in American’s lives does nothing to support freedom. There are those that will read this argument that will say, “this is just the government trying to protect you.” Nothing could be further from the truth.
The left has successfully created an environment where everyone across our country is scared of each other. We are scared that our neighbor may have deadly germs and is out to kill us and offended because they will not give in an obey the government mandates.
Think about this for just a couple of minutes. We have people willing to get into fights on the street over face masks. We have people “mask shaming” others in public and face mask police in social media posts.
We are so focused on these face masks, but we are not concerned at all with the 2900 babies that are aborted each day in the US. The CDC says that just under 138,000 people have died from COVID-19 this year. Over 1 million will die due to abortion this year.
This is not because those posting about face masks on social media are bad people. They mean well and have good intentions. The problem is we have let the left turn our attention to fighting each other and dividing us over small issues. Issues that science has yet to prove will make a difference.
