Boston, M.A. – A new poll released on Friday through Vox shows that the majority of Democrats surveyed prefer Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) as Joe Biden’s running mate. She leads Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) who are the next closest names.
Warren, once front runner in the race, seems an unlikely candidate to fill the VP role on the Biden ticket. Warren was one of Biden’s most critical debaters in the primary. But she tired to put those things to rest in her endorsement.
In the video statement, she said that she always appreciated how Joe Biden would listen. She mentioned how Joe Biden treated everyone with respect. It certainly is a difference from the critical attacks she used previously.
When asked, Warren has said she would be willing to serve as the VP for Biden. She made the comments on the Rachel Maddow MSNBC show.

Warren: Yes. pic.twitter.com/5EIofG2TNt— Maddow Blog (@MaddowBlog) April 16, 2020
Biden committed to picking a woman VP candidate early in the race, but has continued to stay true to that promise among the various changes. Many have called on him to select a black woman to be his VP. Many specifically referring to Stacey Abrams from Georgia. Other names floated have been Kamala Harris or even former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Which would serve the Biden purpose better? One side he can choose a progressive socialist in Warren who will pull in a lot of support from the Sanders crowd. On the other side, he can select a candidate who refuses to admit when she loses. That’s one thing Democrats have been suggesting Trump would do if he lost.
CNBC reports that big money donors are pursuing Biden to steer clear of Warren. They believe that Warren as VP would be detrimental and potentially cause Biden to lose the election.
Progressives seem to have rallied around Elizabeth Warren for the position. Politico reports that many Sanders campaign officials believe Warren to be the best choice. They believe this will help Biden unite the party.
Either way, it will not be long until we learn who the VP selection is for Biden. His campaign announced the selection committee was formed earlier this week.
