Dallas, T.X. – Main stream media across the country continue to lay the blame for the coronavirus on President Trump. The Boston Globe says that Trump has blood on his hands. One NYC official agrees. Speaker Nancy Pelosi has also blamed Trump for coronavirus deaths.
The Atlantic is blaming President Trump for everything. He was blamed for not being prepared for a pandemic. In 2005, former President George W. Bush stated that the United States was not ready for a pandemic. He set out to change that, putting a pandemic plan in place. But the plan he put in place was never realized. For the record, Obama never addressed this either. It is difficult to place all this blame on Trump.
The author wants to blame federal contracts and the elimination of the NSC pandemic unit. The unit was disbanded to streamline operations according to former national security advisor John Bolton. But the media will not look at it this way. They simply want another way to blame President Trump.
Just like the author of The Atlantic’s article, they want to continue to belittle President Trump as unfit and unqualified for office. They continue to attack conservative outlets, who attempt to expose the bias and repot the actual news. This author argues that if anyone else had been president, the United States would have been more prepared. But that’s far from the truth.
Why do I say this? Because we did not have any of the critically needed information from China. In February, it was noted how China was not sharing critical information for the world to control the spread of the virus. This was 6 weeks after the initial notice of the identification of the new virus. The world continues to ask for information, but China continues to refuse.
Recently, I shared my thoughts about how China has stockpiled PPE and medical equipment. China’s desire is to position itself as a world leader, rather than the cause of this pandemic. But China is the one to blame for this pandemic.
As China has continued to withhold information, the rest of the world is suffering. This NY Post article gives a great timeline. China knew about the virus in December, but ordered silence over the situation. The information was held closely until late January and then China took action. But the damage was already underway.
Before China authorized a lockdown of Wuhan, the government made a horrible decision. According to 60 Minutes Australia, as many as 5 million people were allowed to leave Wuhan. There was no screening or restrictions. Millions of potentially infected travelers allowed to leave and spread COVID-19. But they want to blame President Trump?
As much as the left may hate President Trump, they need to start placing the blame exactly where it belongs. That blame does not fall on President Trump. The blame should fall onto China, but the media will not go there.
President Trump is doing a great job in attempting to lead the country through a trying time with optimism in a dismal time. I have shared my criticism about his handling in the past. I truly believe his address to the nation was about two days late. Yes, he did seem to downplay the virus, just like most Americans. As more has been learned, the virus has been taken seriously.
All of the blame for coronavirus is on China. If China had been honest up front, this pandemic could have been prevented. Travel restrictions would have been placed much sooner. The world would have still come to help China, just as they already did.
Yet, China did not do their part. They kept the information private. China let the rest of the world suffer. They willingly let the rest of the world suffer. Let that sink in. But the UN says that China is worthy of a seat on the Human Rights Council. But that’s a story for another day.
