Boston, M.A. – Former Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren is backstepping her campaign promises of not accepting or participating in “big money” donations. Now, the Massachusetts senator will host a “wealthy donor” fundraiser for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden next month. It would appear that Pocohantas is positioning herself as a contender for the VP job for the November ballot.
We all heard the pandering promises of “Lizzy” Warren.
“I’m not going to do the big-dollar fundraisers. I’m just not going to do it. The whole notion behind this campaign is that we build this together. And that’s exactly what we’re doing,” the Massachusetts progressive told CBS News in an interview published on October 8, 2019.
Warren also vowed not to accept support from outside super PACs when she launched her White House bid. But in the final weeks of her nomination run, she didn’t disavow a super PAC set up to help her campaign.
The senator told reporters while campaigning ahead of the Nevada caucuses in February that “if all the candidates want to get rid of super PACs, count me in, I’ll lead the charge. But that’s how it has to be. It can’t be the case that many people keep them, and one or two don’t.”
In traditional form, Senator Warren further illustrates that Democrats will say and do anything to get elected. In this case, “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.” Warren has never been against “big money,” in fact, she has made a career on top-dollar political donations.
Over the last five years, Warren has raised over $31-million, with huge donations from PACs, big businesses, law firms, and universities, like Harvard, that received $9-million in COVID-19 stimulus money. As a former educator and attorney, it would appear that “Lizzy” was wholly dependent on “big money” donors.
The DNC has longed attacked Republicans for receiving top-dollar donors. For conservatives, it was the donations from firearms, insurance, and oil companies that caused them to pause. The DNC playbook has always been and will always be, “do as I say, not as I do.” Warren hopes to secure “big money” for Biden and propel her off the reservation and into the Oval Office.
