Democrats began opening arguments in the Trump impeachment trial in the Senate. The coverage of the trial has been minimal in the main stream media. The media’s thoughts are that they have already presented the case. Now, they want to pressure GOP senators, along with Democrats, to impeach President Trump without evidence. But it’s not been working out so well for them.
On Wednesday’s episode of The Five, Jessie Watters did not hold back. Watters went after Democrats and every possible way they have looked at this. His opening line should tell you most of what you need to know. In opening, Watters said, “The Democrats have done a lot of dumb things in Trump’s firs term but putting Adam Schiff on television for two straight hours might be up there with the dumbest.” Watters then proceeds to shred the entire Democrats case. You can watch Watters statements that begin at around 3:28 in the video below.

Watters is right in everything he said. If the Democrats had evidence and a case, the GOP would vote to convict Trump and would move along. But the Democrats have no evidence and therefore have no case. As Watters says, the GOP senators have proven they are not in Trump’s pocket before. In this case, they are supportive of President Trump.
Of course, co-host Juan Williams, an outspoken supporter of impeachment, came out and said he feels this was an impressive performance by Adam Schiff and Democrats in presenting evidence. Apparently, Juan Williams is hallucinating with evidence that does not exist. But he is no different than the majority of Americans. The overwhelming majority of people are not looking at the evidence, or for the evidence. They are simply believing the lies the Democrats and media are feeding them.
The Democrats that are “performing” in the impeachment trial from the House cannot hold the attention of the Senators. Even the 2020 Democratic candidates Amy Kobuchar and Bernie Sanders were out of their seats for some of the hearing appearing to pace and be bored. I guess even if you are a professional politician and liar, even you can become bored with lies.
So here we are continuing to waste time in the Senate addressing bogus charges in a sham partisan impeachment. I know the concern was initially if any Republicans would defect and go with Democrats. We know that Democrats will never achieve the 67 votes required. Now, the question I have is if Democrats will defect on their own party. Could it be too boring to continue along with the sham? I will be watching this in the coming weeks.
